Bottle 50cl.
Clear medium t odark brown color with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, dusty, smoke - peat, coffee notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, and a dusty finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (220808)

(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of fonefan. Almost clear reddish brown with a small, off-white head. Lightly tart aroma of hard roasted malt. Medium body, dominated by hard roasted malts and a whiff of fruit. Finishes dry with an underlying acidity. 220808

Bottled. A hazy deep red beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with primary notes of caramel, but also a burnt edge. The flavor is sweetmlaty with a slight acidicy from hard roaste malt, as well as lighter notes of vegetables and soy sauce, leading to a dry finish with notes of hard roasted malt. Bottle, thx to fonefan. It pours a dark brown body with a quite small beige head. Toffeish and butterscotchy with notes of coffee-grit. Sweetish in a way, but still very dry, with flavors of toffee, butterscotch, some dried fruits, a little sourness and a distinct coffee-like bitterness. Surely not my cup of tea. I ilke both dry and sweet stouts, but I’m not very fond of butterscotch in my beers. And a tad more fruityness wouldn’t hurt either. (080822)

50 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with a redish/orange glare and fully diminished tan head. Breadish, chocolate and mild spiced aroma. Flavour is mild citric to a breadish and chocolate malty base flavour. Lingering bitter chocolate and roasted acidic finish. Perhaps a mild infection, but not one that does much harm.

Bottle conditioned, 500ml, courtesy of Fin, many thanks mate. Deep brown red with slight tan head. Deep, full soft and fruity stout, darkly roasted with sweetish chocolatey notes, some mollasses and charry coffee bean. A really quite decent beer with enough going on to keep an interest without overloading the palate. Pretty decent.

Bottle that was brought over in a case along with our beer order for Merton Beer Festival, thanks to Marc Bartram Poured chesnut with beige head. Little bit of sourness, earthiness and some coffee granules. Nice tasty roastiness with some cocoa powder added, sweetness is there but never intrudes, some fruitiness, really quite nice.

Bottle conditioned, from Beer Cellar in Lincoln. Deep chestnut brown, good lasting creamy beige head and gentle condition. Quite fruity in the nose with hints of chocolate, coffee, and a faint phenolic smokiness. Quite soft in the mouth, still some fruitiness but a creamy coffee/chocolate flavour develops with a low sweet liquorice note in the background and a gentle burnt roastiness contributing a dry chalky taste in the back of the mouth. Sweet coffee and roast barley bitterness linger long in the finish.
