30 cL bottle, courtesy of fonefan. Pours murky dark brown with a diminished tan head. Perfumed hoppy aroma. Mild roasted. Alcohol presence and hard roasted malt flavour with a light liqourice note. Sweet and spiced flavoured into the finish leaving a roasted malty and light hoppy note. Light perfumed overall.

Cask, one-third pint, GBBF 2013, day 3. Coal black body, low, tan-coloured head. Dark malty nose, roasted and spiced. Dark chocolate malts on the nose joined by dark spices leading to a dry, roasted malty finish. Masked alcohol. Rather easy to drink. Pretty nice (London Olympia 15.08.2013).

Cask @ GBBF 2013. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty chocolate aroma. Roasted malty caramel and chocolate flavor. Has a roasted malty chocolate and caramel finish.

Cask at Pigs Ear BF 2012 - London. Pours rich brown-black with a fine, tan cream head. Strong dry dark chocolate aroma with some burnt toast and general roasted malts. Medium sweet flavor with rich chocolate, light astringency, some coffee grounds, earth, burnt wood. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Light dryness to finish, earthy bitterness, baking cocoa. Decent balance overall.

Nose is dark roast malt, light soap, touch of liqourice.
Taste comprises dark roast malt, liqourice, chocolate, molasses.
Medium bodied, soft carbonation, sweetish roast tones in the finish.

Cask at the Cambridge Beer Festival. A dark, treacly stout with a rich smokey chocolate aroma and a dry, peppery chocolate flavour leading to a satisfying dry finish with just a hint of alcohol. Excellent.

8th August 2008. On tap at GBBF. Light on it’s feet for a strong stout. Well balanced subtle fruit and chocolate. Some banana at the end. No realy dryness or bitterness. Unusual stout.

Bottled. A hazy deep red beer with a thick brown head. The aroma has notes of alcohol and hops. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of alcohol and roasted malt, leading to a dry spicy finish.
