2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 chriso (7254) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 8, 2006
Cask (gravity dispense), Reading Beer Festival, April 2006. A weaker version of the, not very strong, Green Man from the same brewery. Pale colour. Dodgy, dull malt aroma. A bit stagnant. Dull flavour too. Just a touch of spicy hop redeems things, but not a lot. Didn’t get any coriander. Dull all round. Questionable condition?

Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - Reading BF. Oh my God, this was truly awful. The aroma is syrupy sweet with notes of straw and vomit. The taste is just foul and nasty. Sickly and very very bad. Oh and by the way it’s golden.

Reading 06 BF cask gravity. Golden, no head. Bit of diacetyl, bit thin in mouth. Odd herby, toffee flavours with an ok finish
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 leaparsons (7070) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - OCT 8, 2005
Bottle conditioned. Light brown and orange with a bubbly off-white head. Aromas are sweet and sour fruit with mellow lemon and some caramel. Flavours are tea with citrus fruit and some caramel smoothness. Towards the finish, bitterness comes through, with pine and grassiness. The palate, like the Premium Bitter, is quite prickly. Could be the conditioning. Not bad, not great, but pretty tasty for its alcohol level.
