2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 yngwie (9175) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - AUG 31, 2008
Bottle, thx to fonefan. A hazy golden-orange beer with an off-white head. Dusty, a bit sourish and citric nose with some maltyness. Quite decent flavor, with a malty caramel and hoppy bitterness, but there’s also some dusty, citric sourness. Medium body. Decent bitter and fruity finish, with some sourness. Luckily the flavor is much better than the aroma. Still, there’s obvious signs of the beer going bad. (080822)

50 cL bottle. Pours slight cloudy orange with a lacing white head. Mild spiced and yeasty aroma. Flavour is quite dry hops with a light spice to herbal note yet light and not too dominant. Mild fruity accent and caramel malt showing through. Light citric touch and bitterness into the far finish.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 rauchbier (3203) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - SEP 26, 2005
Bottle conditioned, from Beer cellar in Lincoln. Amber gold, thin rocky white head and moderate condition. Gentle citrus hops and background sweet maltiness with some suggestions of chocolate in the nose. Quite dry and hoppy in the mouth with some citric notes and more chocolate sweetness underpinning it and a delicate yeastiness emerging with time. Short finish, beginning sweet but becoming chalky and slightly yeast bitter at the end.

Although describing itself on the bootle as a typical IPA this is really a brown coloures bitter. Bottle conditioned and slightly smokey with traces of burnt toast. Not very impressive.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 omhper (15956) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - AUG 10, 2004
Bottled. Reddish brown, creamy head. Citric acid up front. Clean mouthfeel, traces of pine needles and a lot of lemon juice. This beer has obviously gone bad long before it’s supposed too...
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 chriso (7063) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 24, 2003
See Beer Elsie Bub for some general comments on Bartrams beers. I had expected this to be a "red ale" from the name, but it was, in fact, a pale copper colour. Malt and hops in the aroma. Malt continues into the flavour, but there is a lot, and I mean a lot, of hoppy bitterness here too. Very bitter finish. Drinks above its abv. Very nice. Bottle-conditioned, October 2003.
