COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Acclimator Dopplebock presents a rich smoothness balanced with just enough crisp hop character to make for an easy-drinking strong lager. Dopplebocks are traditionally brewed with Pilsner or Munich malts, but the Base Campers chose to showcase the awesomeness of Maris Otter and Belgian dark crystal malts. Result? A unique and drinkable beer.

Tap at Base Camp, PDX, 22/05/13. Very lightly hazed chestnut brown with a thin beige head. Nose is dark malts, toffee, darl fruits, sugars. Taste comprises dark malt, toffee, light spice, touch of booze. Full end of medium bodied with moderate carbonation, a little booze evident at the curtain call. Ok.

Draft at 16 Tons Taphouse, Eugene. Pours a dark reddish amber. Thick off-white head. Nose is on the weak side, little bit of maltiness, candi sugar. Medium body, surprising amount of warming for ABV, dropping in at finish. Nutty in finish, sweetness.

UPDATED: MAY 20, 2013 On draught at Roscoe’s. Already love dopplebocks but this one is really good. Sweet smooth character to it, nice and malty. Had again on draught at Base Camp. Not as sweet as I remembered, yet still good.
