3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Can from Made in Oregon. Pours dark copper with a 3 finger creamy beige head. Complex floral/malt/wood aroma. Med + body. Flavor is woody, malty, floral and it comes across very oak astringent. Sets up a nice hop burn. Sort of a mellow malty decently hopped equivalent to an IPA. Nice drink indeed.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
UPDATED: JUL 10, 2013 Bottle (or is it really a can with a cap?). Clear dark amber (and you call this pale?) with a tall off-white head. Unpleasant gummi candy and bubble gum / maraschino cherry / fruit cocktail / koolaid powder sugary aroma. Medium body, sweet and candyish flavor, bitter and brash as well. Cedar shavings and urine = hamster cage smell going on here. At room temperature it exudes a distinct cosmetic / makeup powder smell. Spicy pepper and dirty solvent once warmed. This is another brash, unfocused, kitchen sink hop mess, completely unbalanced and with no cleanliness from lagering. The cedar / urine comment I made was before I even knew this was aged on oak chips. I don’t understand the appeal, the brewers may think it adds another layer of complexity when in fact it gives the beer a wood and pee smell. Unenjoyable.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Crisp copper and amber coloured body with a nice orange and bronze glow and a rich four centimetre tall tan head - very nice looking. Aroma of light grassy and herbal hops with a nice caramel and malt note and some lighter fruit smells. Medium-bodied; Nice grassy, floral, dry and rather perfumey hop notes up front with a solid malt backbone, some nice caramel sweetness and a touch of apples and pears at the end. Aftertaste shows mostly grassy and herbal hop notes with a solid malt backbone and enough sweet and fruity complexity to do well - especially for a lager. Overall, a very nice beer with a lot of good complexity and a solid hoppiness, especially for a lager. Great to try and even better with this awesome bottle. I sampled this 65 cL METAL bottle purchased from Made in Oregon in Portland, Oregon (Pioneer Place) on 13-April-2013 for US$5.50 sampled at home in Washington on 29-June-2013.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured from a metal bomber purchased in Oregon City. Medium amber with a one inch head that dissipates fairly quickly. Slight hop aroma comes through. Taste reminds me if an IPA light. Good mouth feel that is light and not at all sticky like an IPA.

Aroma was hard to tell because I drank out the bottle so it was metallic. Judged the appearance on the bottle which is sweet.Tastes good but not refreshing because today is hot. Not bad.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sample from firkin at the 6th Annual Rogue Firkin Fest at Green Dragon. The beer is a slightly hazy amber color with a medium foamy white head that recedes steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of ripe fruit and oak. Medium-bodied with flavors of floral hops, fruit and sherry. The finish is moderately bitter with a fruity hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Interesting beer, though it has a somewhat distracting mustiness. Tons of fruit, with notes of pear, apple, grape, and mango. Smooth lager qualities. Woodsy and earthy, possibly too much. "Green" and grassy hop flavors are kind of overwhelming, but the floral-like bitterness is balanced.
