4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz. aluminum bottle. Beautiful looking beer - pours a deep orange-red with a nice, fully lasting and firm head. Moderately strong pine resin aroma with some black pepper and mild dried straw underneath. Heavily bitter with flavors of leather and grapefruit rind. There is a bit of grassy hay and a spark of musty yeast at the tail end of the flavor profile. Very dry, mildly alcoholic finish. A lager? You could have fooled me. Really, really tasty. Huge thanks to my sister- and mother-in-law for bringing this back for me from Oregon.

Funky "canottle", brought back and shared by Grippitis. Nice looking copper pour. Caramel malts, bready and lightly toasty, with. Moderate dose of fresh hop character. Better than anticipated.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A copper amber ale with a thin mocha head. In aroma, loads of caramel malt with apple skin, maple, and grassy hops. In mouth, a nice caramel malt with scotch notes, very nice, grassy hops, surprising.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Alumabottle:   Deep dull caramel, large frothy sandy head, nice lacing.   Soft bready and biscuity aroma.   Noticeable hops.   Hoppy on the tongue, with a somewhat stringent grassy malt base.   Moderate to
full body and mouthfeel.   For an IPL (India Pale Lager), its moreso on the side of India Pale.   I actually wished it were more on the Lager side as it would be smoother.   Seems a bit astringent.   Body and mouthfeel
are moderate to full.   Feels somewhat heavy, without being cloying.   As it warms the nose gets a little fruity.   Not a bad beer, but the bitterness seems to outweigh the Lager aspects.   Wished it were a bit smoother,
less bitter.   Might as well have been an IPA.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Can 650 ml ? (shaped as bottle)
Aroma: first impressions, darn this is good Shit. mango , citrus feel with slight creamy follow up. Berry creamy end not as nice.
Look: poured as clear deep amber with large creamy white top. Nice lace on glass walls. Handsome.
Taste etc.: bitter front , fruity, tart fruity feel. Not sure if this could be cantaloupe, watermelon with malty alcoholic warmth at end. Very unusual approach....read label...Oak aged , duh Radek. Very unlike Mocne beers of Poland still cool stuff! This shit grows on me, yeah great choice for late night camp event!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Can from Made in Oregon. Pours dark copper with a 3 finger creamy beige head. Complex floral/malt/wood aroma. Med + body. Flavor is woody, malty, floral and it comes across very oak astringent. Sets up a nice hop burn. Sort of a mellow malty decently hopped equivalent to an IPA. Nice drink indeed.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
UPDATED: JUL 10, 2013 Bottle (or is it really a can with a cap?). Clear dark amber (and you call this pale?) with a tall off-white head. Unpleasant gummi candy and bubble gum / maraschino cherry / fruit cocktail / koolaid powder sugary aroma. Medium body, sweet and candyish flavor, bitter and brash as well. Cedar shavings and urine = hamster cage smell going on here. At room temperature it exudes a distinct cosmetic / makeup powder smell. Spicy pepper and dirty solvent once warmed. This is another brash, unfocused, kitchen sink hop mess, completely unbalanced and with no cleanliness from lagering. The cedar / urine comment I made was before I even knew this was aged on oak chips. I don’t understand the appeal, the brewers may think it adds another layer of complexity when in fact it gives the beer a wood and pee smell. Unenjoyable.
