Our fourth waypoint in the ongoing Meridian Expedition. A Belgian Witbier in appearance and malt bill, the Meridiwit has a cloudy and opaque white color and silky mouthfeel from the use of loads of wheat and oats. Then the recipe takes a firmly untraditional twist. Meridian hops deliver a brightly citrus and refreshing mimosa-like character with flavors of orange and champagne dominating the aftertaste.

t base camp brewery wih Stephen. Pours cloudy yellow with white head. Crisp white wheat, grassy. Taste is really nice on this hot day, raw barley hay, light wheat and a hint of hops. Finish is good and clean.

On tap at the brewery. Pour is clear honey with a big white head and great lacing. Big citrusy, peppery, grassy, biscuit, herbs, and coriander in the aroma. Taste is lemon peels, bread, white pepper, basil and grass with a lightly spicy finish. Medium body with high carbonation. Really tasty shit.

650ml bottle like aluminum can pours a very light golden orange color with a small white head leaving only a few spots of lacing behind. Aroma is orange zest with some light citrus and spices. Taste is an orange zesty bitterness with an orange fruity and malty sweetness. Light bodied with moderate carbonation leaving a light tingle on the tongue. A well crafted witbier that rivals those of Belgium. Recommended.

Sampled at the brewpub - Pours cloudy yellow with a white head. The aroma has pineapple, smooth citrus and tangerine hoppiness. It has a medium body that is crisp and nice soft carbonation. It starts with pineapple, smooth wheat, spice and rounded citrus. The finish has spiciness and some must. Nice.

A nice Belgian white. Prominent note here is citrusy lemon. The wheat underlying is a bit overwhelmed by this, but not terribly so. Good but slight and not abundant Belgian yeast flavor.

From aluminum bottle. Very hazy and cloudy yellowish golden color with lots of frothy white head that doesn’t dissipate. Aroma is light citrus, clove, and a tinge of yeasty tartness. Taste is lemon, tangerine, light peppery spice, and a touch of yeast. Good balance of citrus, yeast, and spice. Light, refreshing mouthfeel.

Glass at Orenco Taphouse. Pours a bright but cloudy yellow color with a large white head. A fruity nose, some yeast. The flavor is a very hoppy take on the Wit: bursting floral and citrus hops, mild yeastiness, light banana esters. Very smooth and good.
