The Ripstop Rye Pils is our reinterpretation of the classic pilsner lager beer: aromas of European malt and noble-type hops mingle with a dignified, refreshing, and clean malt character that is further distinguished with a generous addition of spicy rye malt, creating a beer that is at once malty, zesty, crisp, hoppy, and incredibly drinkable.

aluminium bottle 650ml. -from Magic Beer Room Zagreb. Unclear yellow/golden coloured, medium sized white head, mild grainy nose. Sweetish malty, rye, touch of grain and herbs with rather crude bitterness in the finish. Not bad overal but unbalanced.

Tasting Budapest. Pours a dark copper color with a large white head. A spicy fruity nose. Awesome beer: flavorful, robust spicy hoppy flavors with rye malts, a good palate. Very fresh and tasty.

Bottle. Clear golden in color with a foamy white head. Cereal, toasted bready notes and grassyness in aroma. Feels quite crisp. Light doughy and spicy notes too. Nice malty and grassy bitter notes in taste. Refreshing brew.

Tap at the brewery. Hazy yellow pour with a smaller white head. Sweet grain with some assertive hop bite. Still get some metal. Hmmmm.

22oz alu bottles packaged 04/2015, Geers, served at What’s Brewing 202-1 - blind tasting vs Elzacher Löwen Pils. - Thick, burgeoning pillows of dense foam on a golden straw body. Round and fruity (apricot) rye spice meets the young fresh treesap of Pacific NW aroma, going on spruce after rain, furniture, EU nettle and damp grass - close, but a bit of a giveaway. More confident wet bark and damp pine in taste, creating a near-vegetal cocktail of fresh white pollen proteins: nettle tea, unripe avocado, white apricot peel develop good punching power on this 5,8% pilsner/APA body. Held up well in its futuristic active lifestyle can. Nice beer, if only a tad less sessonable that its supremely balanced DE forebears.

22 fl oz bottle. Pours slightly hazy golden colour with a mid-sized white head. Aroma of medium dried fruits, mild hoppy, pale malt, some grain. Taste is very hoppy, grainy, dried fruits, apricots, pale malt, ok!

It’s good, but not great. The rye gives it a bit of fruitiness that doesn’t help the style. Faulty premise, I think.
