A heavy black Stout distinguished by its dry roasted-barley bitterness and dense creamy head. A touch of coffee roasted locally at the House of Coffee contributes to its rich complex character.

Draft. Pours near black with a beige head. Light roasty aroma with some ashy and char-like notes. The flavor is relatively light, with roasted malts, hints of smoke and ash, and a light sweetness. Not bad.

sample: best beer in the place. Nose is complex, the coffee and roasted notes I would expect come through immediately. No head to speak of, however this was one of the last in the sampler. The body was thin but taste had some depth... again with the coffee and roasted malts... definitely some bitters at the end. Think this beer was pretty true to the style. Nice beer... award winning as they claim?! not too sure...

Draft. Poured black with a small whisp of a creamy beige head. Weak aroma of faint chocolate and condensed milk. Thin body with average to strong carbonation. Flavor starts off slightly sour like spoiled milk and thankfully some burnt notes kick in saving me from a horrid taste. Stick to the porter if its available.

GABF 2008. Near-black, milk chocolate and coffee aroma, very rich. Creamy velvety palate dominated by coffee, some chocolate, with a slightly ashy finish. Very good.

Almost black pour with a cream tan head and lace. Medium chocolate aroma. Chocolate and toasted malt flavor and a hint of coffee like bitter. Creamy full bodied beer. Just a tick away from being very very special.

Pours a visibly viscous black colour with a medium, dense tan head that fades to a thin film. The nose is heavily roasted barley, ethyl lactate, butter, cream and pungent caramel. The flavour is a smooth blend of coffee, heavy cream, roasted malt and grain. The finish is mildly bitter with toasted bready malts and hop bitterness. The mouthfeel is decadantly creamy and gently carbonated, but perfect for the beer. Nice.

UPDATED: FEB 22, 2008 Pours a thick head with a dark black color. The nose is extreamly nutty and earthy with some hints of chocolate malt and roasted toffee. As you drink it you can taste the earth tones and there is a frothy creamy finish with alot of chocolate malt. There is a minor presance of bitter hops but it fades rather quick. Most likely used some low alpha hops so the bitterness was not too overpowering. Overall a nice enjoyable beer to have with food and at social events.

Clearish deepest dark brown pour covered by a fully lasting beige head. Nutty, coffee-like nose holding a gentle roastiness that remains under a veil of cappuccino ice cream. Finishes really drier than expected, with nice roasted grains and toastiness. Sweetness develops a caramel tones while the flavour evolution is a definition of the style. Medium-bodied, soft carbonation. Good stuff.
