on tap-pours a creamy, tan head. Color is dark brown with red tint. Aroma is malt, sweet, then chocolate tones. Taste is molasses, malt, then hops comes through with a bit of a bite.

01.21.06 Sample from growler, also sampled at bp, thanks to Gretchen for taking the opportunity to brew this stuff. Pale and somewhat thin looking brown, clouded, and with a small sudsy head of tan. Very mild malt aromas are difficult to discern in a public environment, but it’s mostly reminding me of a solid porter with extra notes of caramel and some adjunct. Flavor is roasty, touches of weak coffee, mild roast and molasses bitterness. Hard to find any hops, but there is a background note of grass that works with the lingering sweetness. Glad I got to try this interesting experiment.
