06.25.05 Tap @ Red Bank. Copper-amber color with thick tan head, rocky, lacing. Pretty standard stuff. Caramel and light floral bitterness. Well done but plain.

Draft. Pours amber red with an off white head. malty toasty and sweet aroma with lighter hoppy notes. The flavor is mostly malt forward, with toast and sweeter notes, as well as lighter floral hoppy notes. Decent.

Pours with no head from tap this gorgeous ruby red color. Not a lot of aroma but some nice maltiness on the tongue. There’s a fair amount of lacing on the side of the glass. Doesn’t linger after the finish.

Draft version from a very fresh growler. Poured a great looking red body under a medium sized foamy white head. Aroma was weak, notes of toast crusts, citrus fruits, caramel, watered down sugar water, The body is more medium then light with a short lived aftertaste. Flavors are metalic, toffee, caramel, toast, more metal and a hint of raisin.

sample: color is dark amber, no hint of red really... nose is of roasted malts, mild hops. taste is medium body, mostly malts giving the beer an overly sweet, mouth coating feel. Not great.

Red pour that hints of amber with off white head and lace. Lite roasted malt with hints of caramel and a good mild bitter. Creamy mouthfeel and good carbonation. Very clean a nice one.

UPDATED: FEB 22, 2008 Pours a clear red color with a thin head that fades rather quick. The aroma had some hints of caramel malt with some hop bitterness but it was not that strong. The flavor was nice smooth and crisp with bitter hops but nothing overpowering. The finish was a bit thin and a tad bit on the watery side yet still enjoyable. Overall i like hop the bitterhops brought out the rich caramel malt but it could have used a little more spice to give it more flavor and bite.

Clearish amber pour covered by a lasting off-white head. Firm cerealic malts with a large dose of crystals. Straightforwardly put, good executiong. A clean example with flowery, leafy gentle hoppiness. Refreshing carbonation, well presented hops, good refreshing bitterness. Simple, but good.

Tap. Pours a reddish brown with an off-white head. Roasted malts on the nose. Hop flavors hiding behind a strong cup of coffee. Not what I expected from an amber. Too many roasted flavors to work.

UPDATED: JAN 15, 2007 on tap-pours a white head, color is clear amber, looks like this should be good. Good carbonation. Taste is mild grain, then a little bite. Not what I had hoped for here either. -rerate 3.3 much more in line with what I expected last time. A good balance of medium malt and some bite to the hops. -rerate 3.7
