Ungstrup (14754), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 4, 2009 Party fass at RBESG 2008. A deep red beer with an orangey head. The aroma is dominated by notes of over ripe fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and over ripe fruits, but a light oxidation is also present. Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 1, 2008 (Party keg 500 cl) Clear warm reddish brown with a small off-white head. Warm sherry-like nose with plenty of alcohol. Very full-bodied dominated by notes of wood and overripe fruit with an oxidized touch. Low in carbonation with a warming alcoholic finish with only a light bitterness. 290608 omhper (12155), Stockholm, Sweden Jul 9, 2008 Draught at RBESG. Very dark runy, small head. Deep aroma of paper and plum brandy. Sweet and full bodied. Fruity with lots of alcohol. Warming with some green hops, very peppery. Long bitter finish. Flavourful, but a bit rough around the edges. yespr (11645), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jul 6, 2008 RBESG2008: 5 L partyfass. Thanks to chris o. Pourd clear and golden amber with a collapsing tan head. Overripe fruity aroma. Flavour is dense malty with a solid fruity note. Warming yet smooth alcohol base. Ends dense malty and roasted malty. fonefan (10868), VestJylland, Denmark Sep 1, 2008 Handbottle @ [ Tasting by Maria ]. Clear medium brown color with a virtually none off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, dark berry’s - raisin, prune, date, licorice, alcohol. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, finish feel is salty. Flavor is very rich ;o)) Body is medium to full, texture is oily - syrupy, carbonation is flat, finish feel is light alcoholic. Very nice ;o)) (170608) oh6gdx (8798), Vasa, Finland Jan 17, 2007 Bottled (As King’s Ale, thanks goes to GarethYoung for this one!). Murky dark brown colour, not much head. Aroma is oak barrel, alcohol, plum and a lot of dark fruits. Flavour is very wineous mixed with strong oak barrell. Totally lovely. The aftertaste has dark fruits, alcohol and roast in it. Just lovely in my opinion. I like Madeira wines, and this one was actually quite close to one, flavour and aromawise. It was however quite acidic and vinegarish also...Which cuts the points down a bit. MiP (8793), Sønderborg, Denmark Oct 11, 2007 Bottle at Kulminator as Bass King’s Ale. I thought it was from 1989, but seeing the other ratings, it might have been 1981. Quite vinous aroma, citric fruit, and mango? Almost clear brown colour, very small head. Sweet, oxidized flavour, quite a lot of cardboard. Very late dried fruit aftertaste. I just do not like old beer. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Aug 13, 2008 Name: Bass No. 1

Appearance: clear dark brown, scant head,
Aroma: sweet dark caramel aroma with dark fruits and light alcohol,
Body: big body with a stickyness,
Flavor: rich dark caramel candy flavor, emerging fruit, touch of chocolate, light balancing earthyness grows almost into distraction, alcohol adds a bit of heat to the caramel, long bitter finish,
Overall: needs a bit more time for the earthyness to fade and let the fruity character develop,
