Hand bottle from cgarvieuk. Drank on Father’s Day 2008 while watching the Cubs put it to the Blue Jays. Hell yeah! Pours dark brown with a slightest white ring around the edge. The nose is full of dark fruit. Plum is what comes to mind. There is some chocolate and roast as well. Again, very plum or prune in flavor. I can get the coconut that Craig mentions. I think I taste some licorice. Very bitter. Light, oily body. Light carbonation. Dry finish. I feel that this may have suffered a bit. Craig shipped on a Monday while I was on vacation. This could have been sitting on my front porch for a day or two. Ouch.

Aug 20, 2008 (Draught from mini-keg) Pours black. The aroma is medium roasted and light burned with tones of dark chocolate, coffee, dark bread, dark syrup and brown sugar. Light sour and vinous with notes of blue grapes and dark fruits like raisins. The flavour is medium roasted with tones of dark chocolate, light caramel, sour coffee and light sour dark bread alongside vinous notes of dark, blue grapes. Some alcohol warmth in both the aroma and flavour. The mouthfeel is light tart, salty and dry. Light to medium sweet and light to medium bitter. Medium bodied.

Aug 15, 2008 Hand bottle (thanks Larry!). Poured a dark brown color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, light chocolate, raisins, roast and licorice. Tastes of dark fruits, lightly woody, chocolate, roast, and caramel. Body a tad on the thinner side.

Aug 10, 2008 (BCTC, 33cl handbottle, thanks kmweaver) Small beige head with sark red-brown body. Aroma is moderately sweet, raisin, some alcohol, chocolate, caramel/toffee. Taste is moderately sweet, raisin, chocolate, some alcohol, light earthy. Smooth medium-full body.
