AR (417), Georgia, USA Nov 8, 2009 Good body to this amber beer. There is a nice malt base to a slightly spicy citrus flavor. fredthecat (180), Canada Nov 5, 2009 amber with no real head, citrusy smell, citrusy taste, orange, bright, dry hoppy, not too dry, juicy tasting but thin, wow suprising flavour. quite nice arminjewell (101), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Nov 5, 2009 Clear orange/yellow appearance with a fairly full and balanced taste. Malty lager with a subtle hop finish, easy session beer but nothing special. Muggus69 (500), Sydney, Australia Nov 5, 2009 Draught.
Clean copper body, small white head.
Light toffee aroma, background of stonefruit, bitter citrus and plum.
Low carbonation, smooth texture, reasonably full bodied.
Nice, if not a bit ordinary flavour; toffee, bitter orange, dark and stonefruits. Mildly bitter finish.
Enjoyable, if not a bit generic. slitcher (92), Freeport, Illinois, USA Nov 2, 2009 Pours a deep amber with a medium head. Aroma of sweet caramel and bread. Smooth malty flavor with just a hint of hops; I remember this beer having WAY more flavor years ago. Very thin body...nothing special, but drinkable. Miksu (2194), Jyväskylä, Finland Oct 31, 2009 Draught at Poppari, Jyväskylä. Amber color. Sweet caramelly and fruity aroma. Sweetish, caramelly, biscuity and minerally flavor with resiny English hops. Minerally Burton water finish. Quite different what I remember from nineties, less hops now. Needs more bitterness. bsp77 (199), Minnesota, USA Oct 29, 2009 This was the first beer I had where I thought, "wow, beer doesn’t have to taste like shitty water." That was over 13 years ago.
Poured from tap into Imperial Pint.
Clear, light amber with moderate head and impressive lacing for an EPA.
Aroma of semi-sweet caramel and dark fruit; some toasted malt, English hops and metallic bitterness.
Just slightly sweet toasted malt with light notes of caramel and English hops. Ends slightly spicy, metallic and bitter.
Moderate carbonation (a little too high for an EPA), medium body, semi-dry finish.
The most widely distributed EPA in the US is a nice, quaffable brew that doesn’t stand out, but is a good backup beer (as it was tonight).
ROGUE (627), Newark, Delaware, USA Oct 27, 2009 12oz bottle and on tap. Pours light amber in color with a decent sized lacey head. The nose is pleasent floral hops and slight vanilla. Smooth rich malty flavor and mouthfeel. Mild hop biterness. A decent common brew.
