Nice color, good nose, nice bitter aftertaste. One of the best things to come out of England since the Beatles.

Skunky....EWWW! All stink and bitterness aside, I usually ahve a few of these in my fridge somewhere. The Red diamond being Englandís oldest registered trademark says something doesnít it? Like Dunhillís and Range Rovers if itís good enough for the Queen, you might as well give it a shot, right? A little bitter, and an aquired taste. Since most of my friends wonít drinkk it, more for me, HOORAY!

UPDATED: MAR 31, 2014 Great beer off tap or in a bottle, enjoy it everytime. Orig rate 2/7/02...4.2. Bass is not nearly as popular in Seattle 2014 as it was on the east coast 10 yrs ago. Bottom line is this brew is very solid. Mostly malt forward yet nicely bitter balanced amber pale ale. Caramel malt is the main theme, but it had a refreshing English, noble? Hop bitterness that makes it a very Sessionable classic ale.

pretty smooth ale, good at cellar temp, no real pronounced flavors noted, just a good quality ale.

I really like this beer. Itís not perfect, itís not worthy of íoutstandingí status. I classify this beer as THE introductory íAleí. Many establishments donít even carry an ale, thankfully some do, and itís usually this guy.

This is quite plesent, this is a nice mix of malty and hoppy after taste. It almost has the quality of some of the mirobrews that have IPA qualities and active fermentation.

Not bad, but it could be better. Its easy drinking, has a nice malt presence, and is quite smooth. It is a bit too sweet and way too overcarbonated, as well as a bit too watery tasting. Not bad though.
