Tap at Pat O’Brien’s in the Citywalk near Universal Studios. Not a lot to choose from so this was the option. Pint glass. Nearly amber in color...strong copper. Aroma on the malt end of the spectrum. Taste follows suit. Maybe a hint of hops but malt, grain steal the show. It’s really not that bad if you take into consideration it doesn’t really look to impress. There is a little bitter at the end but minimal. I would consider this OK. Just don’t expect greatness.

Bottle. Gold with little head. Aroma and taste are very sweet with floral notes and a weird banana like flavor. On the thin side. Not the best.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
Smell of caramel and sweet malt. Not much glittering hops for a pale ale. Drinks a little on the sweet side as well. For a mass produced beer this is actually a pretty good one and I do enjoy making black and tans with it.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Oh yeah, this thing. I remember this one pretty well and am certainly glad to have just found some notes on this. Here goes:
Always been poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a decent hazy orange to amber color with a decent half finger-ed white foamy head that dissipated within less than a minute. The lacing, well, it kinda trickled and sputtered a bit by sliding into the beer fairly quickly.
The smell was definitely that soapy/British sweet malty-like substance with what I believe to be and have learned to be "fuggles" hops (quite earthy, semi-rustic and soapy to some).
The taste was malty sweet with that decent leading edge of the fuggles hops trying to come through.
The palate, well, that was basically a light to medium in body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation is super subdued (but that’s okay since I’m reviewing this as an English Pale Ale).
Overall, I say this isn’t a bad English Pale Ale, though these beers don’t get the love they did at one time, I say this is good for the style and not bad for me, if anything, its a fish n’ chips sort of beer.

From a 12 oz bottle pours an amber beer with a small quickly receding offwhite head. The aroma was very fragrant - notes of fruit, malt, floral, and yeast. The flavor was also floral, malty, with a pronounced but pleasant bitterness. The mouth-feel was medium, a bit creamy, and the finish echoed the medium bitterness, again still a pleasant and refreshing note, with some hops and earthiness.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz. NY brewed to shaker. Pours amber-orange. Quick 1 finger head. No real lacing. Aroma dark fruit and caramel. Tastes thin caramel sweet. No real bitterness. Light bodied, high (gassed) carbonation. Finishes metallic that dries at the end. Drinkable but don’t understand why it’s popular. Average stuff.

Pours a clear amber color with off-white head. Some citrus and pine on this, but I think it actually is best in a Black and Tan.
