Had this beer on tap as a whim at a bar. The menu had it listed as an IPA, which it simply was not as it was lacking in any hoppy bitterness I could taste. It was a standard malty beer.

Clear amber with some light wispy head. Primarily pale malt smell and weak hops. Not much else. Some caramel, pale malt flavors. Maybe a little sweetness. Not as much hops as I expected but enough for it to be a balanced drink. Light to medium body. Some dryness.

Sampled at Monaco Beer Club in Mexicali,Mexico. Well i drank this one just after a Fat Tire. The beer tasted like it was stored cold, then warmed for a some days and then cold again.Since its an English Ale i suppose you should drink this warm. However, the beer has little aroma, nice reddish to orange body,Very subtle hop pressence (i cant reckon which type),very drinkable palate, altough its a hearty flavour for that Alcohol volume.Albeit. Good,Here in Mexico i waited a long time to catch one if this famous ale.

Bottle pours copper with a white head. Aroma is faint caramel, carboard, and a soft fruitiness. On tap, this is a decent restaurant beer for those who are behind the times and have yet to expand selection.

KyotoLefty (3480) - Kyoto, JAPAN - DEC 17, 2010
Draught in Osaka. Medium copper color. Weak aroma of caramel, cherry, cardboard. Rather light carbonation, rather lean flavors. Not much hopping, not much of anything, really. Cardboard is a bit annoying, though the rest is basically innocuous.

Transparent amber color. Nutty, malty nose. Straightforward malty flavors on a light-medium bodied palate.
