angrypirate06 (678), Texas, USA Mar 23, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours a light clear brown color, with a quickly receding head. Smells of sweet malts, and a little bit of hops. Taste is caramelly, with a nice amount of burnt malts and hops on the end. Pleasantly carbonated beer. hogan873 (315), Joliet, Illinois, USA Mar 16, 2009 Honey colored body with fine tan head that hangs around a while. Sweet malt, caramel, and earthy tones make up the nice aroma. Very smooth and silky palate with moderate carbonation. The flavor mimmicks the aroma well with caramel, toffee, and malt dominating until the end where just a slight hoppy bitterness sneaks in. Little aftertaste. A very good beer. JediMindTricks (239), Hampton, Virginia, USA Mar 15, 2009 it is what it is... TheSponge (269), Lynnwood, Washington, USA Mar 15, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear amber/copper color. Flavor: Mild hops, bold malt, quite good. Papillon (172), Sudbury, Ontario, Canada Mar 13, 2009 500 mL Can. Clear amber with a 1-finger off-white head that settles to a thin foamy layer leaving good lacing on the sides. The aroma is sweet malt with a floral note and a hint of honey. The flavor is sweet malt with a note of apple and toffee, a mild almost Cheddar-like aftertaste, and a not too overpowering hoppy finish. Another fine Brit and a good one for a cool summer evening at the fishing camp. altonbrownd (1831), Amsterdam, Netherlands Mar 13, 2009 Bottle recently in Northfield, MA and enjoyed all throughout my youth. This is one my favourites and one I keep coming back to. Beautiful amber body with splendid head. Wonderful taste of caramel, malts, toffee. Creamy and smooth texture. Excellent for a large brewery. GranvilleTim (465), Granville, Illinois, USA Mar 11, 2009 A bit partial to Bass. One of the first beers I had after discovering something else than mass produced American beer. Amber in color with a nice head. Nice malt aroma. Smooth tasting with little bitterness. I really enjoy all aspects of the beer. mickjay77 (15), Amarillo, Texas, USA Mar 8, 2009 [Look]: Deep amber color with a decent head.

[Taste]: Caramel/buttery malts, slight bitterness at the end, nice dry fruity after taste. Medium body.
[Overall]: It’s a decent English Pale Ale.
