Cavie (1299), Fort Worth, Texas, USA Mar 8, 2009 Slightly bitter taste is a good compliment to the decently smooth finish that this ale offers. rohash (37), New York, USA Mar 7, 2009 This used to be one of my favorite beers but it doesn’t taste the same anymore to me. It’s still OK but doesnt have that malty aroma/ taste of the classic British pub ales anymore. It’s more like an American bitter, OK but not what remember it to be. drjay44 (756), Salida, Colorado, USA Mar 5, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Pours a thin ,short lived head, over a clear honey orange body....nose of light caramel with slight chemically overtones....tastes of medium malts with light finishing hops...mouthfeel is light. This used to be a great ESB, how times have evolved over the years. beerchugger (285), Colorado, USA Mar 4, 2009 Pours a dark color with a very minimal head. Smells of sweet malts and caramel. The flavor is rather mild with a hint of malt, a little bitter and some grain. The finish is ok, but nothing great. njbfr (105), New Jersey, USA Mar 2, 2009 Pours golden brown with moderate white head. Aroma is reminiscent of bran flakes. Anyone else? Flavor is odd. Again, I get bran flakes. Good just not anything special. Great with Guinness for a black and tan. davidajensen (31), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Mar 2, 2009 This was a gateway beer. The bold flavor of Bass doesn’t seem as bold as it did when I was 21, but I will always think of these beer with fond memories. It definitely got me started. I still think it has one of the nicest colors of any beer. dwaggs2 (530), Lee’s Summit, Missouri, USA Feb 28, 2009 Bottle. Pours a copper color with a white head. Aroma is earthy, and yeast. Flavor malty and some bitter hops. Good aftertaste. Decent beer jimmack34 (560), Lancaster, Ohio, USA Feb 22, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours copper orange with a small off white head. Smells grainy and metalic. Tastes like bread, mildly fruity, sour and bitter. Has a very typical brittish beer flavor, like tea and kinda nutty, also creamy. Pretty nice beer.
