| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 29, 2009 This was the first beer I had where I thought, "wow, beer doesn’t have to taste like shitty water." That was over 13 years ago.
Poured from tap into Imperial Pint.
Clear, light amber with moderate head and impressive lacing for an EPA.
Aroma of semi-sweet caramel and dark fruit; some toasted malt, English hops and metallic bitterness.
Just slightly sweet toasted malt with light notes of caramel and English hops. Ends slightly spicy, metallic and bitter.
Moderate carbonation (a little too high for an EPA), medium body, semi-dry finish.
The most widely distributed EPA in the US is a nice, quaffable brew that doesn’t stand out, but is a good backup beer (as it was tonight).

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 22, 2009 Draft. Poured a deep orange/amber with a smaller white head. Aroma was grainy cereal and some amber malts. Flavor had a little more potency with lots of bread and grains and a slight touch of nutts. Drinkable but sooo many better easy to find beers out there. williamherbert (466), Syracuse, New York, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Oct 17, 2009 The appearance is a super-clear light orange with a solid foamy white head. Looks watery, but not thin.
The aroma is sweet ale malt. More like a regular ale than a pale. Above average pub ale smell.
THe flavor is sweetbread malt. Vague pale malt flavor, with some okay yeast presence. It’s slightly substandard out of the can. Too sweet of an aftertaste, and tastes like dishsoap as it warms up.
Feels watery with a sweet burn on the way down. Milkier than expected. Soapy. It’s disappointing. I generally like Bass on tap but out of the can it didn’t hit the mark. Not awful, but subpar. beercamel (83), Chicago, Illinois, USA
