patricks110 (275), Alberta, Canada Aug 6, 2008 Very plain and typical english bitter. A pale brown colour with a medium sized frothy head. From bottle at Bottlescrew Bills, Calgary,AB. Aroma of nuts and caramel hops. Overall, a pretty good beer and a great crisp taste. durhambeer (1186), Durham, USA Aug 3, 2008 English pale ale at it’s most typical... or most typically mass produced? Good question. This was from a bottle. Amber pour with slightly off white head. Malty and mild, with hop presence, but certainly not like an American pale ale. Has that English yeast/malt flavor. Very drinkable, but nothing astounding. jtodd5dot1 (32), Marina, California, USA Aug 1, 2008 Pleasantly surprised by this beer. Poured a darkish amber color with a thick off white head that lasted most of the glass. Flavor was fairly mild and not over powering. Sufficient body in the taste smjohnst (202), , Pennsylvania, USA Aug 1, 2008 This is a very good english ale. It is different from most pale ale in it’s flavor and finish. unclemike (834), Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA Jul 29, 2008 Pours dark translucent amber with a lot of red tint.. Small dirty head. Heavy caramel and sugar aroma. A little burnt hickory in there too. Mildly thin consistency. Woody flavor of hickory, sugar and malt. A bit of cheap grain coming through on the finish. If you like this sh*t, then you like New Castle. Really a blood-red beer, pale ale my ass. McGarnigle (301), Rochester, New York, USA Jul 28, 2008 Bottle, can’t discern the date. Gorgeous clear light brown/orange color. More carbonation than I’d like. Sweet caramel malts but also perfumey flavor and some grassy hops. Not that bitter, which is fine. ditmier (1015), Boise, Idaho, USA Jul 27, 2008 2008 Bottle - Pours pale brown, small white head...light malt and grass, medium bitterness, not a lot of character...tis a shame it takes a guiness in the same glass to get my attention... tgncc (796), Bellmore, New York, USA Jul 26, 2008 Pleasant aroma of caramelized malts, some earthy notes. Attrcative appearance, a reddish orange with a moderate white head, true to the style. Falvor is not remarkable, but is a good balance between caramel malts and grassy hops. The finish is appropraitely bitter. A perfectly acceptable beer, good on the railroad home after a long day.
