DandyWolfFloyd (331), Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 17, 2008 Nothing that made me go home and rewrite my beer journal, but it’s not bad at all. It’s a bit like other ESBs. It has a light malt aroma. It’s appearance is that mild caramel color. It’s flavor is a tart, mild hoppy flavor. It’s a bit tart, a bit more on the astringent side than I care for for this style. It’s still sound.
Slightly malty smell with some caramel in the aroma. Taste is mellow with malts but not much hops.
changeup45 (782), Orlando, Florida, USA Apr 10, 2008 Updated: Sep 6, 2008This is a pretty nice, easily obtainable beer. One that has been in the past and easily could be a session choice for me. Pours an dark orange color topped with a moderate head and a pretty good amount of lacing on the glass. I prefer it out of the bottle vs on draft but both are good. The flavor is quite sweet with some fruits an extremely clean finish. Smooth, easy to drink. This is a beer I get often when out and not much is on the menu. bigguns22 (88), Maryland, USA Apr 9, 2008 Bass is 1 of my favorites for a easy can always find beer. This beer has a nice amber color and the palate is cool its smooth with a light fizz.Flavors are no big but it has alot. CelticBrew (676), The Crystal Coast, North Carolina, USA Apr 8, 2008 Bottle: Poured a light brown beer with a medium head. Carbonation is on the weak side. Aroma is a nice enough mix of malt. Taste is very classic English ale and ends with some medium bitterness. Easy drinking beer, however, it is boring and uninspiring ale. Wish there was more there. jeremyd365 (109), Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA Apr 8, 2008 Got it on draught at Carson’s American Bistro in Ann Arbor, MI. Poured a dark, hazy copper and had a nice aroma of hops. It felt medium-bodied in the mouth and the hops were pretty apparent in the taste, but not overwhelming. This is a very drinkable pale. It’s very flavorful without being too strong to have a few. Gusgus (176), Mölndal, Sweden Apr 7, 2008 (Sep 27, 2005) Bottle. Pours a nice amber colour. Gushing, probably due to poor malt. Aroma vinous and slightly sour. Perfumy, soapy, flowery hops. Minerally and fruity. Plum and apricot jam. Medium body with a mineral dryness. Medium bitterness. Sugary and slightly caramelly. Alcohol apparent. Classic Pale Ale.
