Bottle recently in Northfield, MA and enjoyed all throughout my youth. This is one my favourites and one I keep coming back to. Beautiful amber body with splendid head. Wonderful taste of caramel, malts, toffee. Creamy and smooth texture. Excellent for a large brewery.

A bit partial to Bass. One of the first beers I had after discovering something else than mass produced American beer. Amber in color with a nice head. Nice malt aroma. Smooth tasting with little bitterness. I really enjoy all aspects of the beer.

[Look]: Deep amber color with a decent head. [Smell]: Malty, earthy and hint of dry fruity aroma. [Taste]: Caramel/buttery malts, slight bitterness at the end, nice dry fruity after taste. Medium body. [Overall]: It’s a decent English Pale Ale.

Slightly bitter taste is a good compliment to the decently smooth finish that this ale offers.

This used to be one of my favorite beers but it doesn’t taste the same anymore to me. It’s still OK but doesnt have that malty aroma/ taste of the classic British pub ales anymore. It’s more like an American bitter, OK but not what remember it to be.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a thin ,short lived head, over a clear honey orange body....nose of light caramel with slight chemically overtones....tastes of medium malts with light finishing hops...mouthfeel is light. This used to be a great ESB, how times have evolved over the years.

Pours a dark color with a very minimal head. Smells of sweet malts and caramel. The flavor is rather mild with a hint of malt, a little bitter and some grain. The finish is ok, but nothing great.

Pours golden brown with moderate white head. Aroma is reminiscent of bran flakes. Anyone else? Flavor is odd. Again, I get bran flakes. Good just not anything special. Great with Guinness for a black and tan.
