Bottle. Pours amber / brown. Aroma is sweet, caramel. Flavor is malt, caramel. Finish is dry. A good beer when choices are limited.

Pours dark amber with 1 finger head. Good lacing as well. Aromas of molasses and malt. Flavour contained a good complex malt character- but thats about it. Enjoyable, but not extraordinary.

Golden amber. Off white thick head, but very short. Aroma of malts and some light hops. First sip is same. Nothing outstanding, but not bad either. a decent session beer.

On tap. Unfortunately, had along side a pint of Pliny. Nose, flavor and everything else was quite bland. Not bad, and probably a good session beer.

Amber pour, little aroma. Slight bitterness, hoppiness, but nothing extraordinary. A good session brew, and a solid average for the style, but behind Fullers and Sam Smith (IMHO) for an English Bitter that is available most everywhere.

Draught, 20 ounces, savoured at Daniel O’Connell’s Irish Pub on September 7 2007; eye: copper, light effervescence, clear, tiny creamy white head; nose: a bit of caramelized malt, pleasant hops, corn; mouth: caramelized malt, corn, caramel, acridness of medium amplitude and rather unpleasant, finale is rather sweet (caramel) with a hint of hops, thin-medium body, mildly sweet, lightly bitter, good carbonation; overall: unpleasant acridness cost it dearly FRANÇAIS En fût, 20 onces, savourée chez Daniel O’Connell’s Irish Pub 7 septembre 2007; oeil : cuivrée, légère effervescence, claire, petite mousse blanche crémeuse; nez : petit malt caramélisé, houblon plaisant, maïs; bouche : malt caramélisé, maïs, caramel, âcreté de moyenne amplitude et plutôt déplaisante, finale plutôt sucrée (caramel) avec une p’tîte pointe de houblon, corps faible-moyen, moyennement sucrée, légèrement amère, bonne carbonatation; en résumé : âcreté désagréable lui a coûté cher

From the Guinness family, Bass is an excellent choice for a commercial, mass market ale. The ale has a tasty appearance and goes down pretty well too
