iowaherkeye (1832), Bakersfield, California, USA Dec 5, 2007 On tap at McInnerney’s, 03/01/07. Clear copper honey with a one finger eggshell head, good retention. Aroma was metallic and fruity with some woody hops and a bit of earthy. Flavor has the same with a bit of sweet toffee towards the finish. Low bitterness. Light to medium body with moderate carbonation. WickerBrew (312), Chicago, Illinois, USA Dec 3, 2007 No real surprises here, its just a solid basic english ale. Its definetly a step up from standard lagers, but the mass production blandness is there. It would be nice if this was more hoppy, but that would probably make it a pale ale. Kinda has that funky english mouthfeel that I cant seem to get used to. BelgianBeerGal (1273), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Nov 27, 2007 Bottle and draft. Not sure how I forgot to rate this over time. Just a great pub beer and a rather classic ESB. Never fails to deliver. msante79 (778), Orland Hills, Illinois, USA Nov 25, 2007 Draft at a local restaurant. Bitter in tast with a little sweetness in finish. Out of all the common beers that are at most bars I seem to go for this instead of SN or SA. AMN (127), Dublin, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 25, 2007 Bitter yet well-balanced flavor. Just what I expected, this has earned a spot in my fridge. BabyJoe692 (109), Pickerington, Ohio, USA Nov 19, 2007 Draft. A definite easy drinker. Slight bitterness and some sweet almost fruity flavors. choiceblanket (7), USA does not count Nov 16, 2007 This is the beer that gets the most rotation in my apartment. Cases go in the frige and get replaced a couple days later. I really like this beer, widley availible. Makes a good black and tan. Smooth taste, rather light, slight bitter. Very drinkable, works well for all my easy drinking needs. DeadGuyFrank (347), http://westchesterbeer.com, USA Nov 14, 2007 Everytime I drink this, I am reminded of when I was 19 sneaking beers. Almond aroma in the back of the throat (not a falvor used often in beer descriptions), a classic bitter in every way. I notice among my friends, the older we get and more "mature" our palates get, the weaker this beer seems.
