Acually a pretty good pale ale coming from bass. I was somewhat impressed. Not bad at all. Pretty tasty for a pale ale.

Copper color with a thin white head. Light amber maltiness in the nose and a metallic tinny sort of smell. Smooth malt taste with a smoky undertone. Not really a pale ale to me, not really a bitter, and not really and amber. It is decent but really ordinary.

500mL can from the LCBO. I was amazed at just how much foam was produced while I poured this, simply stunning. I was worried it was infected or something, but thankfully it seems to have been the result of a nitro-can spending an afternoon in my backpack. Anyways, nice standard ESB aroma of some mild Fuggles hops, a little toffee malt, what one would expect out of your average ESB, and it’s not bad. Despite the initial foam, it’s a very nice looking beer, ruby-orange with a creamy beige head. Flavour is nothing spectacular, sticky toffee malts, mild esters and the usual fruity characters, with that weird alcoholic flavour in a lot of ESB’s, but not entirely unpleasant. Very smooth and mild, a nice session brew, as I’m sure it’s intended to be. It is what it is, not claiming to be anything too bold or ’out there’, and it fills the time wasting away on these boring summer evenings.

Tap and Bottle. A classic. True to form and experience, even creamy on tap! A knockout with a Guinness! To bad the fish and chips are not included!

(Sample from June 2, 2006 Beer Club Meeting; On tap at Buffalo Wild Wings on June 17, 2008) I can honestly think of a lot of not-that-great beers that taste better than this one. I’m not going to let it’s name defend itself here. Looks nice - a clear, dark red color/orange mahogany-ish with a fine head. Smell… dull. If anything, a little malty. Taste reminds me of a flat, almost watery amber ale - tastes nothing like a pale ale. Had a soapy aftertaste. I think I almost tasted citrus, though... I know that’s not right. Beer shouldn’t be this confusing.

Pretty, clear copper color. Fizzy head that instantly dissipates. Clean fresh malty nose. Smells like good beer. After the promising aroma, the taste disappoints slightly. It’s clean but just generic beer/malt. The carbonation is a little club soda like. However, some nice lacing is left on the glass as the beer goes down. Tart/sweet malt finish. An OK brew, but there are lots of better bitters.

pours orange, smells metallic right off top and then slightly nutty and earthy. The taste came across slightly metallic for me and then i got that pale ale flavor and finished bitter, definitely not my favorite pale ale but it’s decent.

12 oz. bottle. Pours an orange/amber color with a very small, off-white head. Aroma was nutty, grainy from the malts, a bit of dough, and light pine from the hops, maybe some fruit (apple?). Flavor was sweet initially, but finished bitter. Decent session beer.
