Allen (1282), Switzerland Jul 25, 2007 Bottled 568ml. It pours an amber-brown beer with a slightly tanned and nicely remaining head of a good size. The aroma is of nuts, Christmas pudding, raisins and fudge. A rather enjoyable full nose. The taste is rather malty. Some mint-like elements show up. A nice full-bodied beer. The finish is faint and a bit unenjoyable. Some marzipan. A beautiful lacing has been left... The aftertaste reminds me somewhat of a malt liquor. BeerVirgin72 (778), Pataskala, Ohio, USA Jul 21, 2007 I drank this from a bottle, unfortunately, at a wedding. But it was very tasty none the less. Sweet malts up front with a slightly bitter finish. T3llLAllDE (82), USA Jul 21, 2007 pretty copper pour with small head. hoppy bitterness with nice finish. full body. nice beer to have on tap. badlizard (2324), Berkeley, California, USA Jul 20, 2007 Reddish copper with fizzy white head. Vaguely malty aroma and taste, but way too watery in most every respect to good. puboflyons (589), New Hampshire, USA Jul 19, 2007 The U.S. version. Pours honey-brown with a red tint. Off-white head that fades momentarily and leaves little lacing. Hoppy aroma but not overpowering. Full bodied with a medium mouthfeel. Bitter flavor with a bit of an aftertaste. Not near as good as Fullers but a lot easier to find in a pinch. A good ale to introduce to your friends who are interested in taking baby steps to expand their beer drinking experience. keepersj12 (774), Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA Jul 18, 2007 Maybe slightly better than average. Not as good as a striper. Get off your ass and have a bass. ucusty (1865), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Jul 18, 2007 your run of the mill english beer. nice head, hoppy bitterness, not too complex. just too bland mar (1740), Rowlett, Texas, USA Jul 15, 2007 i had heard that this was a pretty decent beer to try out since i haven’t really had a lot of different beers. i was not really impressed with it unfortunately.
