On tap: Color is a light amberish brown, big lumpy, crusty-like starch white head about two fingers high which settled down to get these large white, cloud-like clumps and frosty lacing. The clumps I think were due to it being served way to cold, it was practically frozen. Very interesting to say the least to watch that head go funky. I've had Bass numberous times from tap and never have I seen a head dissolve in that fashion. I knew it was far to cold cuz it frosted the glass within 20 seconds or so of it being poured into the glass. Smells faintly of malty grain, very crisp and sharp. Taste is smooth, crisp, & clean, bitterly sweet malt & grain, mostly wet, due to cold temp, no hop presence detected. Feel is light to medium bodied, not much, has a slight bitterness touched throughout and rounds out to the finish, and was very cold. Very drinkable and a bar favorite, I told them to change the temp on that line, was far to cold. Kinda ruined it a bit compared to other times I've had it.

Pretty mellow, but pretty pleasant at the same time. Not hoppy enough or spicy enough for me, even compared to Goose Harvest. This beer isn’t incredible, but it’s drinkable, aight?

Appearance: clear orange and copper under an off-white head with lingering bubbles of all size. Wisps of bubbly lace. Swirls average.
Nose: dry biscuit malt. Lemon peel. Maybe some apple skins…maybe not.
Palate: crisp profile. Biscuit then lemon and feathery wisps of caramel. Caramel apple essence in the finish. Tastes a wee smidge more than it smells. Apple crackers. Starts to grow a hard bitter rind finish which nips almost painfully at back of throat. Hint of diacetyl.
Final Thoughts: plainly boring, and according to my beloved British beer critic who has drunk many Bass Pale Ales over the years, a poor pale shadow of its former glory.

Not a strong aroma but a light fruit nose. Solid amber color and a cotton white head. It comes across and leaves a bitter taste while hiding a little orange and yeast flavor behind it. Not my kind of beer.

(Bottle from Belfast Co-op) Poured clear medium-dark amber with about 2" of biscuit head that receded to a floating cap. Aroma of light vanilla and caramel, also a bit of pine and hint of grass. Mouthfeel smooth, a little watery. Just sloppy spots of lace. Flavor is light bitterness overlaying mild sweet malt - flavor is very mild and kind of non-distinct, has some breadiness. Has a slight metalllic aftertaste.

Kegged @ Windsor Beer Market. Dissapointing. Poured amber/orange, frothy white head. Thin, faint malt aroma. Only a trace of caramelly malt. Very light, somewhat watery throughout.

Light amber color with a moderate white head that evaporates quickly. Toffee like smell with some mild fruit to it. Toffee flavor with mild hop back. Blah.

Very noticiable water aroma, strange for a beer to be known for the water it uses to be so prominent. Biscuit flavor to it and balanced, not exceptional but still better than most imitators.
