Copper colour with an off-white, fully lasting frothy head. Floral and spicy hop aroma. Unfortunately, the taste doesn't have the character the aroma does. Pretty much straight bitterness, accompanied by a bit of a thin and watery mouthfeel.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 IMtheOptimator (1161) - Bethel, Connecticut, USA - AUG 30, 2004
Pours golden yellow, somewhat orange with a decent white head that dissipates quickly with minimal lacing. The aroma is fairly strong and smells mostly of malt and hops. The initial taste is mostly of malt with some trace of roastedness, with a bitter finish that lingers. The body is medium and the carbonation bites the tongue. Not a bad beer for casual drinking, but the lingering and rather unbalanced finish demands that the beer be best consumed with food.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 desurfer (1159) - Melbourne, Florida, USA - FEB 8, 2003
UPDATED: APR 28, 2003 A pretty good beer, but not for the price. It tastes slightly skunky. The flavor is subdued and only a small amount of hops is present. Medium malt character. Goes best in a black and tan with Guinness.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 angrypirate06 (1158) - Texas, USA - MAR 23, 2009
12 oz bottle. Pours a light clear brown color, with a quickly receding head. Smells of sweet malts, and a little bit of hops. Taste is caramelly, with a nice amount of burnt malts and hops on the end. Pleasantly carbonated beer.
3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Narnad (1147) - Wonder Lake, Illinois, USA - JAN 18, 2009
A great frothy, white head forms when poured from the bottle. Color is copper/amber in color with a med to high carbonation rate. Aroma is fruity with a light apple scent to accent the pale malt sweetness. Flavor has a faint granny smith apple tartness to it, a slight bitter grassy hops middle and ends with a pale malt sweetness. Beer has a little bit of a water feel toward the end of the tasting. Overall beer is pretty good for being hugely produced product will definitely drink again sometime.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 DrBayern (1139) - Morehead City, North Carolina, USA - OCT 10, 2005
Clear amber, rapidly dissapating head. Slightly weet malt flavor, but pretty thin on the palate for an ale. I would have like to try a Bass fromm 30 years ago, pulled on draught in England, before they became a mass market beer. I suspect it was a totally different brew.

okay, weve all had this a quadrillion times, its my goto beer when there is nothing but horrible domestics available, we all do realize this is like bud in the UK, mass produced with weak characteristics and they are always trying to stomp the independants, they dont even know what cask is. however, here in the us this is a good alt. when there is nothing else, malty slight hoppy character, copper brown....why am i telling you, we all know and can read the thousands of other rates. the bass museum in buron upon trent is pretty cool though.
