COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Available filtered in bottles, cans, and kegs.
A version of Bass, primarily for the North American market at 5%.
Brewed from the late 70’s at Burton. In 2000, after Interbrew bought the Bass brand, production was switched to the Ulster brewery in Northern Ireland. In 2003 production and distribution was switched to Latrobe for a 12-18 period after which it reverted to the UK, latterly at InBev’s Samlesbury brewery. As of 2012, the US version was being produced at A-B InBev’s Baldwinsville brewery but production at Samlesbury continues for other export markets.

Well...it looks very nice in a glass, but I’m afraid I consider this to be a very boring beer. Nothing exciting in the taste...I’m sure this was a great beer back in 1830 or whatever the hell.

UPDATED: JUL 14, 2007 16 oz draft Charlotte airport. Clear, watered down copper with small white head that flits away. Aroma is sickening metallic ozone, with some tones of caramel and a hint of pepper. Flavor is the same on most sips; oily and cheesy on some alternate sips. Palate is light and watery. This beer seems undecided on what it should be, but I don’t know if aging would help. I’ve given this one several chances, and I think an American industrial lager might even be preferable. Makes both my stomach and head ache, and has always been difficult to finish.

ehh its ok. Clear bright amber with a small white head. Weak spicy aroma with some toffee notes. Light, almost water body and flavour, toffee and more spicy hops. Little carbonation and a reasonably long sweet finish.

Very good for a commercial beer. If you’ve grown up on microbrews, you probably won;t spit this out but it’s definitely not what you’re used to.

Pours with a nice head. Good looking beer. The smell is a little sweet. The taste is crisp. Your standard English lager.

I am sorry this is not a good brew. It is a clear amber brew with little head. I thought the flavor was less than desireable. Not one i will be ahving unless its free of course.

Cold 12oz bottle: Pours a clear pale orange color with a medium creamy off-white persistent head with lacing. Light malts and earthy hops. Light bodied and smooth with ample carbonation. Dirty aftertaste.

I don’t like bass, it tastes like bud to me, just maybe a little bit better.

OK ... just ok. Get it if that's all they have on tap. A bit on the bland side and not enough uuummpppphhh to make it worth the calories.
