The word is "crisp." Served very cold, this is a wonderful beer, if a little plain -- great head and appearance of lace, fine balance between funky hoppiness and malt, although the aroma is a bit metallic. Smooth and especially nice with food.

It has a amber color with a creamy white head. Has a bitter taste but not too bad. Would rather have a bud or pabst

Good stuff when it comes to ales. Obivious difference from the American pale ales, but is still just as good.

This is a delicious beer, very good on tap as well. A hard choice between this and Newcastle on tap though. But in the bottle, Bass is my choice.

Crisp and smooth with a little bitter bite. It’s innacurately labeled a pale ale, similar to most pale ales only in taste. I guess that it is more of a classic ’English pale ale.’ Rich, but thin head. Light hoppiness, but has a bite. Good on draft. This is my favorite at the local pub. I usually have it with a portabella mushroom sandwich and pub fries, and it goes very nicely.

Can't believe I hadn't rated this before. The old standby at many bars and functions. A mass produced pale ale that works. Consistently good. Nice copper color. Good white foamy head. Hops bitterness up front. Fruity malt flavors. Hoppy finish. Old reliable.
