I’ve had this a couple times over the years, both on tap and in bottle/can form. I can’t believe I haven’t rated it until now. Paid $4.99 for four 16 ounce cans at some liquor store in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. Pours a lovely dark amber/deep copper, slightly orange brew. Head is beige and off white, creamy with a bit of brown to it. Smellls of warm bread baking in the distance. A very nice looking, nice smelling beer, but that’s where it ends. This is not malty enough and there are not enough hops detected. Bitterness is extremely slight. Aftertaste is all but nonexistent. Some after-taste, but so short lived you won’t remember it. This just isn’t worth the price, and not what one expects from a European beer. A lightweight in the PALE ALE category, if you ask me.

The site just deleted my review of this as I was trying to enter it, so here it is again, but shorter. Strangely unique, a bit out of balance, not the best representative of an ESB (almost tastes like it is brewed with Belgian candi sugar), light bodied with a bit to much carbonation for my liking. Still (overall) it is a decently enjoyable beer but I don;t think I will ever buy it again unless Macro lagers are my only other options.

Nice looking amber pour, as the description says it is bitter, but a faint bitter offset nicely by some citrus, faintly nutty, smooth finish. A must too have this on tap, a must.

Beautiful copper colour, Thin creamy head. Sweet malty caramel nose. Nice bitterness, a little metallic aftertaste. Easy to drink. I’ll have another round please.

Taste: 9/8 Bottle(?) Looks: Copper with a thin yeasty head. Aroma: Small hops fruit/citrus behind the yeast. Taste: A good ESB even if it is the export recipe. Like it more every time I have it. Nothing special, but a good quality beer for such high production.

SLIGHTLY BITTER WITH A NICE COPPER COLOR. GOOD ON ITS OWN BUT GREAT TOPPED OF WITH GUINNESS. ITS DEFINITELY ONE OF MY STAPLE BEERS.
