ansermadide (236), Kyle, Texas, USA Jun 17, 2008 (Sample from June 2, 2006 Beer Club Meeting; On tap at Buffalo Wild Wings on June 17, 2008) I can honestly think of a lot of not-that-great beers that taste better than this one. I’m not going to let it’s name defend itself here. Looks nice - a clear, dark red color/orange mahogany-ish with a fine head. Smell… dull. If anything, a little malty. Taste reminds me of a flat, almost watery amber ale - tastes nothing like a pale ale. Had a soapy aftertaste. I think I almost tasted citrus, though... I know that’s not right. Beer shouldn’t be this confusing.
beermaster1 (6), , Nevada, USA does not count Oct 4, 2008 nothing average about this beer.. quintessential u.k. beer taste real good after shot of good whiskey... add guinness.. you have a fight on your hands kcmo19 (21), Morgantown, West Virginia, USA Oct 4, 2008 A pretty average beer. Nothing really stands out about it, but it wasn’t bad. Excellent!!! jmw141 (81), Canton, Illinois, USA Sep 29, 2008 Not too bad. Nice hops. Nothing too remarkable to mention. Seemed a bit dark in color to me. borgination (78), Lee, Massachusetts, USA Sep 28, 2008 Clear, gold appearance with a thick white head. Aroma is nicely balanced of hops, malts and yeast. Flavor is definitely good. Palate is smooth and warm bodied with a nice bitter finish. Lovely beer.
