MoritzF (8250) - Bochum, GERMANY - JAN 31, 2014
(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, golden colour with a big and blond firm foamy head. Mildly bready (cara-)malty and subtle fruity aroma with spicy and slightly resiny hops, accompanied by phenolic notes. Moderately sweet and delicately bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a modest carbonation. Mildly cara-malty and slightly wheaty taste with delicately fruity notes and present herbal and slightly resiny hops; mildly sweet and bitter hoppy finish with shy fruity accents. Not particularly exciting. 03.XII.13

Draught Very good, dense & fine yellow head over golden to copper beer. Some hops, probably USA if not C-hops; garden herbs. Bitter-hoppy, again pointing to American hops - bittering hops, not aromatic, not citrussy. And not much else. Light to medium bodied, light slickness, quite carbonated. Nothing wrong here, except maybe the name (I expect a pale ale to have some colouring, a little caramel), but even then - it’s in the eye of the beholder. But does this pale or other ale bring something new?
