hopdog (4525), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA May 8, 2006 On tap at the Bastone Brew Pub. Poured a deep and cloudy amber/copper color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of dark fruits. Tastes of sweet dark fruits (raisins and plums), and light yeast. ClarkVV (3547), Allston, Massachusetts, USA May 7, 2004 Updated: May 17, 20052004 draught. Deep caramel brown with some light burgundy hints and some mellow orange hues. No head, lightly bubbly and has an intersting lightly astringent malt smell. Light bubble gum, and esters. Flavor has alot of chewy bubble gum, hints of fruit esters, and a decent dose of caramel malt. A hint of citric flavoring, and a healthy dose of belgian yeast makes this quite drinkable, but not outstanding. Mostly dry, a bit too fizzy, with not a ton of complexity, but no major flaws. thedm (3405), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Nov 13, 2006 This draft brew from the brewery poured a head of finely sized white colored bubbles that was mostly lasting and left behind a hazy no visible carbonation brown colored body and a fair lacing. The weak aroma was malty. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of malt sweet and mild caramel. An OK brew just nothing special. HogTownHarry (3175), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Jul 24, 2006 Updated: Jul 26, 2006Draught. At the brewpub with blankboy, GregClow, jerc and tupalev. Hazy chestnut brown with a decent creamy lasting off-white head leaving thick sheets of lacing. Mild aroma of brown sugar, soft sweet spices and fresh grain. Taste is disappointingly grainy, with sweet brown sugar and sweet spice, a little bitterness in the finish. Weak body, simplistic, sugary mouthfeel and palate - possibly my least favourite of their offerings. Eyedrinkale (3102), Beer Town, New York, USA Mar 30, 2005 Brown color without much head but that can also be attributed to the way the bartenders pour and the glassware they use. This came to me in a freakin pint glass, which seems to be the glassware of choice at Bastone. Taste is more sweet than anything else with mostly caramel and malt extract. Some hoppiness to it but nothing that stands out. Drinkable and smooth though.
