Bilzmoude (19), Ferndale, Michigan, USA Feb 7, 2006 The January 2006 batch: Nitrogen poured with a thick, dark brown head that stayed around for days. Smelled of burnt marshmallows, and tasted of burnt barley. This beer was really over-roasted in my opinion. It is GREAT if you like that burnt stout flavor. It was really full-bodied because of this. It goes down really easy though. Almost creamy texture. Overall, this beer went overboard. 11026 (1886), USA May 16, 2005 Nitro tap. Black colored with a nice dense typical nitro tan head. Roasted aroma and flavor. Medium bodied. Decent. Pailhead (2299), Allen Park, Michigan, USA Apr 11, 2005 On tap: Nice dark chocolate and roasted coffee aroma. Dark brown, virtually black with a tan head. Light chocolate up front with a roasted coffee and light sour finish. Brad (364), Royal Oak, Michigan, USA Apr 4, 2005 Like the Blonde, nobody has rated this beer yet. I can’t remember this beers exact measurements so I took a guess. Please update if you know. Deep black opaque, one finger tan head that lasts until your final sip, very nice looking beer. Downhill from here on out. Aromas of roasated malts as you would expect and smoke tinges. Flavor was mostly of the roasted malt, mocha coffe, and some smoke in the finish. In the mouth this beer felt thick as oil, but in the throat it was very thin and rinsed right out of the mouth ater swallowing.
