COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer was a legend before its time. No one really knows what the name means, but they know one thing for sure: A beer with this name on the label is very good. Its malty flavor is complimented with molasses and just enough hops. It’s an experience that cannot be described in words. So go buy some and see what we mean.

Beerfest. Poured a pale brown color with a tiny tan head. Aroma was buiscuits, roasted malts, and nuts. Flavor was a little wood, faint chocolate, hops and nuts. Medium body, dryer finish. Average at best.

Bottle… Deep, dark mahogany ale with a small, fluffy, khaki head. Decent retention. Nice mocha, nutty aroma with a hint of maple syrup. Full-bodied with laid-back carbonation. The flavor is malty and sweet – very sweet. Chocolate and coffee malts intermingle. Finishes sweet and nutty. Either the hop bill needs a boost or I should have drank this fresh – probably a little of both – to perfect this brew. I like what I’m seeing from these folks. Bottle courtesy of phaleslu!

22oz. Bottle: Got in trade from phaleslu; THANKS Peter! GUSHER! Aroma of malt, brown sugar, nuts, maple syrup, and toasting. Poured copper/brown in color with a large, loose, fizzy, tan head that greatly diminished but lasted throughout. Cloudy. Sparkling. Full of tiny and small particles throughout. Flavor is medium sweet. Tastes of malt, nuts, slight brown sugar, slight brown sugar, and some cocoa. Medium body. Tingly, then lightly dry texture. Medium sweet, malt, brown sugar, nut, maple finish.

Pour is a dark brown with a average tan head. Aroma is kinda nutty and roasty if you use your imagination. Flavor is a small chocolate malt with no hops showing up and very little body. Nothing really great as this is a below par boring brown ale. Not a real good beer and kinda reminds me of a kit home brew brown ale.

This was from a trade via Srykzone. This may have had a loose cap because there was not much carbonation. Pours dark brown with no head. The nose was malty with lots of nut aromas. Medium body with no carbonation. The flavor was cocoa and nuts, The finish is nutty as well. This had a nice flavor but the lack of carbonation made it flat. If I can get new bottle this would be revisited. Hand bottling can cause quality control problems.

Bomber from Wine & Cheese in Clayton, MO. Pours very dark brown with a creamy/fizzy transient beige head. Aroma is malty. Roasted malt. Med body. It is nutty, quite so. Seems to have treacle in the background. It’s certainly nutter than many. Not really sweet, but not really dry either. I’m starting to think grahm crackers would be good with this.

Pours dark brown with an off-white head that disappeared very quickly. The aroma has nutty toasty malt with not hop presence. There as a bit of toast to the malt & was a fairly basic brown all aroma. Medium body that’s slick and lightly cloying with some light carbonation. The flavor starts out with some berries, cocoa, nuts, toast, dark caramel and medicine. The finish is a bit metallic as well. While this didn’t do a lot for me I still look forward to revisiting this one down the road after they’ve worked out some of the ’new brewery’ kinks.

22 oz. bottle. A nice dark red brown pour with a large light tan head. Chocolate and molasses aroma is aggressive and quite sweet. Flavor is nice and just a bit funky. Nuts with molasses and cocoa describes the flavor. A hint of hops that are floral whit a lack of bitterness that lets the sweetness run rampant. Feel is somewhat fizzy. This is a nice effort.

Sample from a 22 oz. bottle at TWCP Beerfest 2011. Can’t believe I’m the first rating for these. The pressure is almost too much to bear. Anyway, this brown ale pours a semi-cloudy brownish-amber color out of the bottle and has a small beige head that settles into a ring. The aroma is very nutty, with complementary notes of toasted malts, mellow earthy hops, and a little brown sugar. The flavor is equally nutty, with more of the earthy hops showing up along with toasted sweet malts and faint dough. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation and a nutty mouthfeel. Dry finish. Nice brown ale from a brand-new brewer.
