3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Brigadier (2235) - Bloomington, Indiana, USA - JUN 9, 2012
22 ounce bottle
Picked up just a month or two ago in Saint Louis this is my second experience with Bat Creek. A fine example of a lawnmower beer (granted a bit too high gravity until you are done), this was also a great value somewhere around $6.99 a bomber. For a small production brewery that is a fair price for a local release.
Aroma / Appearance - Bubbly white head took a long time to settle down. Eventually it did though leaving behind a golden transparent body. Honey, lemon, and wheat provide a delicate summery feel that matches the design on the label.
Flavor / Palate - Honey, golden grahams, and traces of spices pepper the palate with a citrus feel. The same lemony feel lasts into a lingering finish that hints at the taste that came beforehand. Without trying to be complicated it does a good job of selling itself as a potent lawnmower release.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 hopscotch (8217) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - DEC 18, 2011
Bottle… Lightly hazed golden ale with a small, soapy, white head. Great retention. The bouquet is of pale grains, floral, perfumey hops and a light nuance of clover honey. Medium-bodied and lightly creamy with moderate carbonation. The flavor presents sweet pale and honey malts accentuated by a modest, floral hop bill. Finishes bittersweet (more sweet than bitter). Bottle courtesy of phaleslu!
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 thirdeye11 (5001) - Dallas, Texas, USA - OCT 7, 2011
(22oz bomber thanks to bu11zeye) clear gold with a ring of fine white bubbles. Nose of fresh grain, yeasty dough a tinge of alcohol and biscuit. Taste of butter, dough, sweet grain, odd.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Strykzone (3814) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - SEP 4, 2011
22 oz. bottle. A bit of yeast in the bottom of the glass adds light haze to this golden brew. A small white head doesn’t last long at all. A softer aroma is light fruit and grain. The flavor is light yeast, fruit, spice, malt, and bitter hops. The spices grow with temperature. This has just a bit of Belgian influence from the yeast and the fruit and could be a step sister to Orval. The finish was fruity and funky This was an interesting beer and not bad at all.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 dwaggs2 (1297) - Jefferson City, Missouri, USA - AUG 16, 2011
Sample at beer fest. Poured a harzy orange color with a tiny white head that went rather quick. Aroma was malts, candies, sugar, and molasses. Flavor was malts, bread, and grass. Very thin and watery. Very smooth on the palate. Better than others in it’s style. Still not the best beer.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 hayduke (2933) - Eureka, California, USA - JUN 20, 2011
UPDATED: JUN 21, 2011 Courtesy of Strykzone via a trade. Thanks. Pours a cloudy orange with a white and moderate lacing. Nose of light malts and fruit. Medium body and clean moughfeel. Flavor is a mixture of milld fruits and floral hops. Light bitter finish. Very refreshing.

Bomber from Wine & Cheese in Clayton, MO. Pours hazy orange tinged gold with a transient bubbly white head. Aroma of cooked light stone fruit. Medium body. Flavor also suggest cooked fruit. It packs more substance than many blond ales. Only lightly bitter. Somewhat refreshing.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 vyvvy (3268) - Florissant, Missouri, USA - JUN 19, 2011
Pours orange / blonde with a small white head. The aroma has pale malt, cream, spice and some sourdough bread. Medium smooth body with a moderate amount of carbonation. The flavor starts with breadiness, mild toast, light caramel and some spiciness. The finish is much of the same with even more breadiness. An okay beer, but its not really down my alley these days.

It poured a golden color with a decent head. The aroma was malty and slight sweetness. The flavor was sweet bread with a somewhat bitter finish. Not bad, had a decent taste and was refreshing.
