COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pike County Pale Ale is a full bodied American Ale. Its copper color and complex hop flavor make it a pleasure to drink. We dry hop it to give it a subtle floral aroma that’s to die for. It’s an American beer that is a sweet vacation for the senses. This beer goes with just about anything.

Pour is a dark copper with a large white head. Aroma is a nice piney hop. Flavor is an equally nice hop with sweet malts to round things out. Above average for a pale ale.

Bottle from Wolfbrau House of Beer. Pours a slightly hazy copper color with a billowing head that fades slowly to lots of lacing. Aroma of fresh grain, citrus, some caramel and hint of herbs. Taste of citrus and some caramel, with a bit of fruit and pine. Nice bitterness and a clean finish. Medium body Has a nice tart touch. Enjoyable beer and an easy drinker. Nice pale Ale from a small regional brewer.

22 oz. bottle from Wine and Cheese Place. Pours a cloudy amber with a big off-white head that leaves heavy lace in the glass. The aroma is pretty subtle and grew on me as I let it sit a couple minutes after the first whiff- caramel malts, grassy hops, citrus peel, and faint floral notes. The flavor is floral and citrusy hops, caramel malts, toast, mixed fruits, and some rye-like spices. Light-medium bodied, with a toasty, spicy mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Very good.

Copper and mostly clear with just a tinge of haze, monster head that lasted and lasted, leaving thick lacing. Smell is malty with a very nice, forward hops profile. Taste starts out sweet, with lots of malts and a touch of honey. A very forward and pungent blasting of hops follows, with lots of earthy, piney, and dry citrus character. Body is pretty thick and warming from the tangy hops and higher than usual APA for the style. The hops are almost chewy, but there isn’t much resiny or oily texture. It’s quite a hop bomb in the end, despite the forward malt character. Definitely worth a try, and I’ll certainly have this one again.

Bomber from Wine & Cheese in Clayton, MO. Pours slightly hazy copper with a 3 finger creamy beige head. Aroma seems floral over citrus. Med+ body. Flavor is a lot of mild roast caramel, clearly sweet, but it is balanced by a huge amount of hop. Floral, earthy, citrus? But not resin. Finish really is rather bitter sweet. This is a very nice beer.

Pours hazy deep amber with a large off-white head. The aroma has caramel, nuttiness, honey and syrup ~ comes across more as a sweet brown ale than a pale ale to me. Medium/full body that has quite a bit of carbonation that is fairly soft. Seems the bottling issues may be fixed. The flavor starts off with sweeter maltiness than I’d expect from a pale ale, but it fits with the aroma. All of the aroma traits are still there, but there is a bit of spicy/floral hop presence with a little bit of citrus. The finish show more of the hop aspects, but this is still a malt forward pale ale. Nice beer, but a bit maltier and sweeter than I generally prefer in my pale ales.

Sampled at thevAugusta Bottoms Fest. It was cool meeting the guys from the brewery. This pours very hazy and isbgolden brown. A small layer of light tan foam. I only smell brown sugar and avwhiffnof caramel. Hops are barely tasted, too. This is mostly a caramel malt beer. Morw hops would be welcome.

Sample from beerfest in Hermann, MO. Poured an orange color with a smaller white head. Aroma was citrus, pines, and floral notes. Flavor was pine, grass and mild hops. Sweeter up front with a soapy finish. Not the best Pale ale out there, but still soild beer.
