these guys are still getting things sorted out with some of their other beers but this one shows what they can do. fluorescent fruity aroma, pale, nice lacing. light sao level malt toastiness with bit of a slick of carapils; some nice minerally/fruity aleyness; sharp, tingly bitterness with grapefruit, hopsack, vanilla and nice low level malt returning in finish. id drink this over LCPA or SNPA anytime - but it is a bit of a mystery why their beers are so expensive with the minimal packaging and distribution costs they have...

Tap at the brewery (on the first day they were open to the public). This is seriously good. Super hoppy aroma and perfectly balanced with the malt body. Very strong bitter kick at the end. There are IPA’s out there which don’t have the flavour of this! Early days, but I think Batch are the best brewery in Sydney

Longneck bottle from the brewery Clear orange amber color. Very vibrant looking and good clarity. Thin, white head. Falls to film and collar very quickly. Nose is mostly orange and slight bits of pine and grapefruit. Decent but soft caramel backbone with hints of biscuit. Taste is a bit thin and watery at first but picks up fast. Mostly orange, pine and biscuit. Still slightly thin in the mouth in waves. Perky carbonation and light bodied. Decent APA.

I had the beer at the Brewery. A very good version of an American Pale Ale.

Really sessionable pale ale, nice hop and malt balance. Lots of cascade aroma and flavour, suits the malt really well. Not overly complex, but just the right amount to keep you coming back for more. Also a lower than average carbonation compared to most APA’s, but positively impacts upon the beer.
