hughie (2286), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Oct 5, 2008 This is back on cask after a hiatus. Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Amber with a small off white head. Not much aroma: what there was of it was malty. Sweet, rounded malt taste with bread and biscuit. Slight bitterness. After a couple of citric golden ales, this was a pleasant change: a thoroughly enjoyable, warming, satisfying autumnal ale. harrisoni (5359), Ashford, Kent, England Oct 29, 2006 Cask handpull at Phoenix, Canterbury. Pump clip said 4.2%. Deep chestnut/mahogany colour with lasting beige head. Fully juicy malt in mouth, bt of toasted malt on end. Hop is evident on end, bit spicey. Warming pleasant dark bitter. Some dark fruit/malt on aroma. Spiceyness is very pleasant.
