Bärnstensfärgad öl med lätt vitt skum. Doft av säd och en fruktig, tuggummiaktig nyans. Ganska tradionell lagersmak med en hyfsad torr beska.

3.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nothing like a good English ESB. Love the multigrain malt body, a very complex malt body, complimented by Belgian yeast notes.

2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle from Blue Dog. Pours turbid dull orangy with 1-finger frothy off-white head. Nose is oats, rye, barley, corn flakes, citrus. Tastes bitter, hoppy, with grainy corn flakey flavors. Overall is a bit too bitter for me without enough hops and has an odd aftertaste.

Body is medium, malty and sweetish flavor, light fruitiness, caramel and some toffee, faint roasted malt. Finish is average, malty and lightly sweetish, some caramel and light roasted malt, light hoppyness. Bitter with caramel and toffee - OK, but nothing special.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured into a snifter.
3.0 A: Fucker gushed on me despite having a reasonable carbonation level. Didn’t shake it up at all. Weird. Lightly hazed orange-amber-brown color. Two fingers of frothy off-white head. Retention isn’t too great and small touches of lacing are left.
4.0 S: The barley, rye, and oats come through well. The wheat is a bit harder to find. Large mineral component. Spicy earthiness from the rye and supple graininess from the oats. This combination is unique for me and I rather like it. Strong lemongrass and pear fruitiness.
3.5 T: The taste, while still good, isn’t as exciting as the nose. The individuals mesh a little too well and are softened. Still earthy and spicy with the mineral component. Pear and ripe apple fruits. Lemongrass herbalness.
3.5 M: Lighter medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Lightly creamy. Not bad here.
3.5 D: Decent brew with a lovely nose. Easy enough to drink.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Oct 2006: Very drinkable bottle of English Pale Ale.
Pale bronze in colour, with a a tight almost white head, it looke the part.
The blend of barley, wheat, oats and rye give it a sweet aroma, with hops just about winning the battle for top dog in the smelling stakes.
Hops and fruit flavours fill your mouth, again a sweet taste, like the aroma, although, matliness also forces its way into the reckoning when mouthfeel and overall flavour is searched for.
This will not be everyones idea of a classic English Pale Ale, far to sweet for most, but as a beer for drinking with friends, it is ideal. I like it very much.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
(bottle) Clear, amber colour with a medium-sized tanned foamy head. Present notes of caramel in the nose with subtle fruity notes. Sweet-bitter flavour, rather light bodied with a prickly carbonation. Mildly bready cara-malty taste with notes of popcorn; moderately dry, quite slim and mildly bitter hoppy finish with slightly sourish wheaty notes. Likeable, but not overly impressive. 08.IV.12

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
500ml bottle. Clear copper colour with small macropore white head. Unspecific grainy aroma. Not really delightful monotonous grainy taste, dry, sourish, weird.
