COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: pasteurised. Bottled by Marston’s.
Combined Harvest is a unique combination of brewing worts, or extracts from a variety of cereals. Most premium ales are brewed only using malted barley, but this multigrained beer has a unique multigrain blend of malted barley, oats, rye and wheat. Grainy tasting with a delightful floral start and finish.

Aroma is malty, but not like in a lager. Rye and barnyard; plus fruity notes. Minimal head, amber colour. Lightly sour, lightly bitter. Soft carbonation, full body. Maybe lacks some bitterness and character, but it’s a good beer.

So, the countdown has started. I gotta work hard cuz Richie simply has a higher run rate than I do. I don’t wanna let him down and this has got quite exciting. 8 ticks today would be good, This is obviously an average start. This is gonna be fun...

Has a healthy golden glow but very little head and a light malt character. Relatively easy to drink with a carbonation.

Bottle. Pours a mostly clear light amber color with a moderate white head. Nose is quite bitter from the English-style hops and almost slightly sour. Taste is somewhat non-descript bitter. Bleh. Boring.

Bottle 500 ml from La Cave du Haut Jura - St-Laurent-en-Grandvaux (F). Amber with a short head and slight crackling. Aromas of cereals, UK hop, hay and honey. The taste is also cereals, with honey and earthy hops. Rye bread and porridge. Bitter-sweet with toffy, fruity and a little spicy. Light and grassy, finally easy and thirst-quenching.

Not too sure about this one. Drinkable, not totally awful, but somehow soapy? Prefumed? Waxy? Light in colour and light on flavour too.

Aug 2012 - slightly floral, which I wasn’t expecting. Quite light, but not watery. Biscuity finish. Not bad.

Bottle: Almost clear, deep golden with a orangey sheen, stable creamy off-white foamy layer, honeyish and hoppy nose with a light tinge of vegetables; spicy sweetish-bitter flavour, relatively light bodied, but pretty soft; getting drier and hoppier towards the malty-bitter finish. Just O.K. ...

Clear copper, big but loose white head. Bready, toasty, lightly spicy aroma. Very malty. Lots grainy, toasty flavors. Hints of spicy, peppery flavors, too. Not bad...

Bottle bought 28 Dec 12, Best Before 28 Feb 13. Clear dark golden honey colour, thick white head which settles gradually, visible light effervescence. Citrusy* sour and slight biscuity smell. Watery mouthfeel, predominant cereal taste**, bitterness doesn’t last. Not hoppy enough. First taste of Batemans, underwhelming but pleasant enough, will try some of their other beers when given the chance. Having read Marko’s review, I think he hits the nail on the head: *and Apricot **also, slight sweet Apricot and Yeast
