Bottle. Pours a mostly clear light amber color with a moderate white head. Nose is quite bitter from the English-style hops and almost slightly sour. Taste is somewhat non-descript bitter. Bleh. Boring.

Bottle 500 ml from La Cave du Haut Jura - St-Laurent-en-Grandvaux (F). Amber with a short head and slight crackling. Aromas of cereals, UK hop, hay and honey. The taste is also cereals, with honey and earthy hops. Rye bread and porridge. Bitter-sweet with toffy, fruity and a little spicy. Light and grassy, finally easy and thirst-quenching.

Bottle: Almost clear, deep golden with a orangey sheen, stable creamy off-white foamy layer, honeyish and hoppy nose with a light tinge of vegetables; spicy sweetish-bitter flavour,relatively light bodied, but pretty soft; getting drier and hoppier towards the malty-bitter finish. Just O.K. ...

Clear dark golden honey colour, thick white head which settles gradually, visible light effervescence.
Citrusy* sour and slight biscuity smell.
Watery mouthfeel, predominant cereal taste**, bitterness doesn’t last. Not hoppy enough.
First taste of Batemans, underwhelming but pleasant enough, will try some of their other beers when given the chance.
