A unique combination of brewing worts produced from barley, oats, wheat and rye. Grainy tasting with a delightful floral, start and finish.

Sampled cask at Akkurat, Stockholm.
Orange/amber.Vaguely lemony with bold, short mouthfeel. Notes of burnt malt leads to a sharp, grassy finish. Unrefined.

May 2007: At last I have found it on draught somewhere, it was a guest ale at the excellent ’Eagle’ in Boston (the real Boston, in Lincolnshire). I thought it darker than the bottle variety, but the pub is not well lit, so that may account for that. The flavours and aroma were stronger than the bottle, I enjoyed it so much, I had three pints, the guy behind the bar knew how to pour it too. A very good beer from one of my favourite breweries.

tombyars (1102) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - OCT 5, 2011
Tasted this in the Last Post, Paisley (JDW) in September 2009. Cask, handpump dispense. Crystal clear tawny in colour with a thin white head. Slight hop noted in the short aroma along with boiled eggs. Thin mouthfeel and poor lacing. Weak pale malt base gives slight hint of redcurrant fruit and little else. Floral hops in the short bitter aftertaste. Finish is bitter sweet. Lacked body and conviction.

26th September 2008. Clear amber gold beer. Crisp and fruity. Dry finish. Not hoppy just a little fruity. A nice palate cleanser.

harrisoni (10069) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - OCT 12, 2009
Cask handpull at County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. Copper bitter colour, lasting this beige. Bit of caramel on aroma. Bit of diacetyl maybe. Good condition though. Bit of green apple on the flavour. It’s an ok bitter, does what a bitter would as you would expect, but didn’t jump out at you. Not even in a really competent bitter way.

weaselkenievil (1093) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - SEP 24, 2009
Cask at the Oxfford in Macclesfield. Have to mention that only half was drunk, the other half was thrown over the floor in celebration at the epic 4th United goal in the 4-3 derby against the bitters. Gold with a thick white head. Yeasty aroma with a faint rubber smell. Sweet and malty with a touch of fruit. Pretty average for me. The better standard of average but just like 100’s of other English beers. Thanks all the same though.

Jukkabro (3471) - Tampere, FINLAND - SEP 21, 2009
Dark golden colored with medium sized yellow head. Rich berry aroma with raspberries dominating, thin hops also come up. Thin to medium bodied, smooth palate. Flavor is similar with raspberries dominating, aftertaste dries with lemon and yeast.

downender (4380) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - SEP 17, 2009
Cask-conditioned at the Cross Hands, Winterbourne Down, S Gloucestershire 17/09/09. Amber coloured with a decent off-white head. Fruity, yeasty aroma with plenty of sweetness. Sweet flavour, with doughy malts, the afore mentioned pear drops and an earthy finish. Very Batemans but ok.

Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Wasn’t impressed with the bottle version. This is a bit better. It’s a coppery gold with a small white head. Nail varnish aroma. Taste is fruity with a hint of pear drop. Some sweetness and a mid bitter finish.

A bit flat and cardboardy on the nose. A bit light on in taste. Grainy and with some grippy grains.

Copper color. Cheap caramel and milk chocolate nose with nasty caramel flavors in the mouth that carry through to the finish. Yuck.
