Cask at Bar t’at, Ilkley, West Yorkshire. Very dark brown with a beige head. Grainy malt aroma. Smooth crusty bread taste with no sweetness and a hint of dryness. Good for the boys at just 3%.

Cask. Buttery aroma, in a good way. Very dark brown colour with a red shine. Very small light brown head. Good flavour, liquorice with a hint of sweetness and a slightly salty finish.

Cask at the wharf, Aalborg. Red brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is roasted, caramel , malt, hop. Flavour is roasted, hop, fruit, apple, caramel, malt. Easy drinkable beer.

Cask at the Wharf, Aalborg. Dark ruby body that looks black at first sight, topped by a small beige head. A bit roasted aroma with hops, some coffee and ripe apples. Roasted malt, some hops and coffee in the flavor. Thin to medium body, coffee-bitter and hop-bitter finish. A nice, pleasant and easy-to-drink ale that could go all the evening. (070331)

Cask. Almost black, no head. An aroma with notes of plums and liqurice. A nice flavor of liqurice and plums, and some raw notes of malt. A very nice mild ale.

Aroma is caramel leading to fruityness, rasberrys some mollasesmilk chocolate when you swollow there is some soapyness, in a good way, then bubblegum kicks in, not much of a finish, super easy going.

UPDATED: FEB 20, 2008 Cask conditioned at the Vine hotel in Skegness. Cask at the red lion Wainfleet. Simply the best dark mild I have ever had. Perfectly balanced. Pleasant aroma and full mouthfeel but not overpowering. Enjoyable with a full meal or just playing cards. Good to the end of the firkin.

Ink black body over a very low head. Lack of aroma. Some caramelisation flavour the beer. Medium bodied, but still a watery impression (Half on cask at The King’s Arms in Norwich 24.09.2006).

Cask at The Kings Arms Norwich 24 Sep 06. Pitch black. A tiny creamy head. Some caramellish aroma. Spicy flavour - delicious. Some sweet bitterness in the finish.
