downender (4380) - Bristol, - APR 21, 2009
Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 21/04/09. Amber coloured with a moderate, off-white head. Earthy malts with a slightly spicy hop kick in the finish. also seemed to have that Batemans house edge. Ok, if not a beer I would revisit.

A Mes rate. Cask handpull at Baker Street ’Sporks.
A very clean golden brown with a thin white head and some condition. Earthy malt and faint hops in the aroma. Balanced but little to get excited about. Sweet bready malt flavour with plenty of dark fruit. Faint, very faint hops in the finish but a little too astringent and tasteless. One dimensional, but drinkable I guess.

Cask, Highcross, Leicester. Golden brown with an off-white head. Aromas are citrus with pineapple and grapefruit. Floral with very zesty, resinous fruitiness. Flavours are sweet malts followed by zesty and lightly sour fruit. Sweet pineapple and oranges. Good.

tombyars (1102) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - APR 25, 2009
Sampled this bitter in the Saltcot, Salcoats (JDW) in April 09. Opaque amber in colour with a thin white head. Lemon citric note in the short aroma with a slight sulphur note and a thin mouthfeel. Pale malts impart a zesty lemon rind citric note with a touch of kiwi, gooseberry and lime. Dusty hops give a short bitter resin tang in the afttertaste. 55/45 bitter finish. Good session ale

Svesse (4389) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - APR 25, 2009
(Cask at Penderel’s Oak JDW, Holborn, London, 19 Apr 2009) Amber colour with creamy, beige head. Fruity, floral nose with orange peel and citrussy hops. Fruity taste with notes of orange peel, mandarin and a fresh citrussy bitterness in a fairly short finish. Less than medium body. Nice and tasty bitter (and I seemed to find the only decent cask around).

DruncanVeasey (5136) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Prem, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - APR 25, 2009
Hinckley Spoons. Red amber with creamy white slick. Buttery boiled sweet fruit, suck of boredom, caramel, nasty lingering astringency like off nut. Faint dog aroma. Worse than most of their pasteurised bottled beers, which is some going. Unfinishable.
