UPDATED: FEB 18, 2015 330ml bottle from Morrisons, Preston. 99p sell-off-tastic! A good six weeks away from its "best before" date, mind you. I used to think 6.2 was kind if a magic number for beer... Most of the beers I?d had, or made at that strength were pretty good, if not excellent. Nice to meet one that disproves the rule. I think even Batemans have made beers that are more orange and barley than this one. It?s sweet as, but lacks anything orangey other than a cheap cordial note. It?s thin, pours clear dark amber, no head. Pishest of the pish beers I?ve bought from a supermarket today. 99p though, extra point for the value.

Nose: orangeade, some solvent, nothing else. no foam, no lacing. taste - blidfolded I would never say this is a beer. harsh oranges to start with, bitter (and not in a good way), misbalanced, alcoholic. aftertaste horrendous. Damn, i can drink vodka with no chaser, but had to do it with this beer! third beer from this Batemans ’special’ series I was forced to drink and i got my lesson - never again.

Clear copper of color with a small white head. An aroma of sheery, orange, sweet malt and candy. A flavor of sweets, candy, orange, spice and sherry.

Bottle that Jim shared - cheers. Orange in coloue with a white head. Smells of cheap orangeade and chlorine. Tastes of cheap orangeade and washing up liquid. Light beery bitterness behind fails to improve things. This is a terrible beer - all 3 people present found it completely undrinkable. And possibly poisonous.

Bottled, 330ml from Morrison’s in Banbury. Brown with very short lived head. Drank quite flat and lifeless, sweet with fruit syrup notes and a hint of bile. Quite disappointing really.

Skinnyviking (7433) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JAN 10, 2015
Bottle at home. Low flufy white quickly disappearing head. Clear and good looking brown head. Sweet roasted malt orange aroma. Sweet roasted malt caramel flavor with a high carbonation and less notes of oranges than expected. Short finish. Lacks body in spite of the relatively high alconol contents.

A distinctive beer. Described by the brewer as a fruit beer, so we must accept they have got that bit right. Striking to the nose and palate. This immediately zings with orange zest and malt. But the sweetness starts to become overly appear aren’t just before you start trying to avoid the Orange squash ones. By the end of the small glass which is all the bottle affords you are asking yourself the question dredged by drinkers and Brewers alike. Can he finish the glass?!

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear orangey amber with an off-white head. Sweet orange aroma, spicy sweet. Medium body, lowish carbonation, rather enticing orange notes but also a little on the sweet side bordering cloying. The late hops aren’t quite enough for balance. 070115
