Gazza (720), Worcester, Worcestershire, England Nov 12, 2004 Absolutely rancid. A crappy caramel and boiled sweet aroma and flavour follows into a dry, plasticky peardrop taste. I doubt this would sell apart from the name which is a cashing in on the world cup. Batemans produce yet another turkey; whatever happened to them??? (Cask @ Steam Railway, Swindon)
Daniel_Brown (1919), Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, England Jun 21, 2004 Hand pulled at the Anchor, Birmingham and supped as England beat Switzerland 3-0, during Euro 2004. An odd Mild this, if Mild it indeed was. Remarkably dry, with a hoppy twang to finish. Creamy top but medium thin mouthfeel. Very tasty. chris_o (4409), London, Greater London, England Jun 7, 2004 A curious beer, this one. Dark red/brown colour. Predominantly malty, but rather fuller bodied that one would normally expect a mild to be. Sweetish finish. Quite nice, whatever it is. Cask (handpump), Bateman’s Visitor Centre
Pub (4124), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Jun 5, 2004 Cask conditioned at Batemans Visitor Center, Wainfleet, Lincs. Reddy brown beer with a full, beige head. Fruity and nutty smooth mild beer, dark and easy drinking. I didn’t get the Port thing though, not enough alcohol kick really. Sweet finish, not sure your average footie fan will drop the lager for this though.
