Nut brown, clear, dense white head, good lacing
Aroma - Caramel toffee malts, soft minerals, slight sulphur
Taste of caramel malts, some burnt toffee, fruity malts, some yeast, hedgerow english hops, dab of minerals, definite dark English ale
Palate - Medium body, fairly smooth. Finish as main flavour, moderate bitter linger and a touch of bitter roast
Overall - One of the best Batemanís beers Iíve had - helped that it was fresh and in crackiní condition

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Cask. Dark copper with a beige head. Sour, ripe fruit dominates flavour and aroma. An ugly sting of hoppy bitterness to finish. Poor.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Mid-amber in colour and not a huge head on the sample I tried, although this can vary depending how far down the barrel it is. Hops only noticeable for their bittering properties, whilst the overriding flavour is that of berry fruits. Not bad.

Cask@Bridge House Belfast 01/12/11. Good malty brew, with balanced bitterness and easy drinking for its relatively high ABV.
